I have exactly 4 legendary weapons after many years of playing and I'm starting to feel.....unaccomplished.

Lots of those were lol-worthy, but this one killed me:

The teleport shouts, I miss them the most.

Most FFXI memories were lost when Killing Ifrit was taken offline. Sad times.

My first interaction in FFXI was someone threatening to disembowel me when I was 12.

My favorite memories of FFXI were when I used to stay up late with Japanese players getting my first job blm to 75. Not much in the game compares to hitting 75 for the first time.

Going to give this a try as memory serves me so forgive me if I forget ls names or player names

I remember back in 2004 I heard about a online final fantasy game that was on the ps2 that was playable on Dail up connection I remember saving up money to buy it and get a Internet subscription with my parents permission and getting a phone line set up in my room.

I remember updating and constantly reading the strategy guide I picked up to get myself familiar with the different city nations and monsters and jobs. I really wanted to be a Ranger and made plans to unlock it.

When it was done updating I picked sandoria and my name and picked a elvaan male that had a black pony tail because at that time I had long hair and was a rock and roller lol

I remember being overwhelmed by the size and asking plenty of questions about how to leave the city to go level warrior and how to get a subjob.

I made it to west ronfari and it was here where met a player by the name of McDoal or something like that he offered me my first linkshell family

Stars Of Destiny
It was here where I learned ranger wasn't my play style after I unlocked it because there was a demand for tanks so I started leveling up whm to skill healing as I got access to pld. Was war/whm for a brief bit. I also learned about Events here and lead countless eco-warrior quests and garrisons and expiditionary quests. I spent a lot of time here helping others. We made a ls greeting on how to say hello and goodbye to one another. We would say " Suo " it caught on after someone mistyped sup so it got immortalized.

Learned a little bit about nm pops from a event shell called FreeBeer

I joined my first dynamis ls called Dynamis Marines

I leveled up Black mage to get into my first endgame ls Nine Worlds camping kings

I started my first social ls called Valor Kingdom did a unique event every Wednesday called Kareoki Wednesday we would type out songs in ls chat

Made a 2nd ls for dynamis called Knights Of Dynamis

After Nine Worlds broke up I joined Validus endgame

Joined a new dynamis ls called OMGKITTENSMEWMEW main tanked for them

Joined Worlds Unbroken endgame ls as a tank

Joined a casual event ls called Noobies. It was here where I learned the phrase " if your not dieing your not having any fun"

Joined Perfect Dodge dynamis ls got help with shield astation

I got recruited from across server by a few folks who wanted to set up a king egls on siren to help main tank called IEXODUSI

Joined a abyssea ls called Revolutions met my future wife here

Joined up with Proclaimed Insanity rocking more dynamis

Remade Valor Kingdom into a egls / social ls still kept the Kareoki Wednesday event and just chilled having fun teaching content to players and making friends

Joined Northern Lights ls and brought Kareoki Wednesday here too.

Joined Valequenta ls making more great friends which made a new ls I am currently in called Silmarallion.

Still having a lot of fun and love making friends. That's a summary of my almost 13 years playing final fantasy 11

The friendships maintained throughout the years oddly enough

we did a rotation of sell, give. if you camped two tiamat spawns for drops you got them. granted that meant being semi active for an ungodly amount of time. because two drops means you claim and get the drop. you don't always get the claim, and it doesn't always drop. i'll never forget playing old ps1 games on my psp while killing random wind eles and xolotls. stupid pharpe is still one of the most bs drop rates on the planet.

No screenshots, but a few memories to speak of:

Seeing Bloodtear Baldulf (sp) for the first time when I pretty much just started playing, and thinking "wow I can't wait to grow up and fight that guy".

Hearing about the magical town of Jeuno, and you decide to make the trip to see it for yourself. Upon a long journey, zoning into what you thought was a town way too good for you with it's style and music.

That feeling of finally getting out of the dunes at lv18, but then stuck in the cave at Qufim because no one kills that one annoying evil weapon.

Partying up in Kuftal Tunnel, and hugging that wall near the crabs for fear of the resident big *** scary Wyvern that passes by in the not so far background.


I mean there are tons more of course, but yeah don't wanna make this too long without fun pictures at least.

Blazed were/are you on bismarck? I feel like i've seen some of those names in your photo before.

Diabolos from 2001sh-2003. Hades from 2003 until they merged it with cerb.
Wouldn't surprise me if you did recognize some names though. A lot of people left after salvage bannings to other servers due to many linkshells being utterly decimated afterwards.
