So is the Dye really 800 hallmarks a pop? So 8k hallmarks to max a cape? Is there a limit per month as well?
You can bet there is...

You can only buy 5 dyes per month, but there is some free dyes in the total hallmarks

So you can't even cap a SINGLE cape in one month?
Gotta <3 SE's attempt to bind us to Ambuscade because they have no time/resources/will to release more content.

In hindsight I guess that's still better than the "no updates at all" we were all expecting after their original statement though.
I guess, maybe?

God, I think this right here just made me switch from "Buying Wardrobe 3" to "Ending Subscription". This is *** stupid. I'd seriously rather not have the bonus to capes than be stuck with partially unfinished ones laying all over the place.

Which typing it out sounds really stupid, but...yeah...

Seriously, it's now 21500 Hallmarks to cap each month. That's 72 VD regular, a couple less with the seals. Roughly 10min round trip means it's 700 solid minutes of Ambuscade, or almost 12 hours a month, which is now "mandatory" to keep maxing rewards.

Less than 1 compelted cape a month or even if it's one completed cape per month (5 from hallmarks, 3 from total hallmarks, maybe 2 from gallantry?) is still... insane.

I dunno about everybody else but I have like 12+ capes completed or about to be completed, and probably a few more I want to do. That alone would likely keep me updated until september and onwards.
The idea of having to spend 12+ months in Ambuscade just for a 4th augment is HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE.

But then again who knows, things might get better.
We started with being able to update only 2 capes a month, now we can update 3.
We didn't have the "glyphs" to get more points, now we can get 2, maybe we'll be able to get even more in the future etc.
I mean, dunno, maybe things will get better in the future?

As it stands now I agree is pretty depressing/frustrating, to the point I can understand this being the last drop bringing people to unsubscribe =/

Wasn't expecting them to, but Moblins count for the Goblin Ambuscade RoE making Newton Movalpolos a really convenient area. Plenty of Moblins for multiple groups.

So, just tossing out what I've seen from the new Ambuscade.

It seems that each mob in it has a weakness, and all other forms of DMG do quite little(seemingly 25% or so of normal).

Roc = Piercing
*** = Blunt
Colibri = Slashing
Apkallu = Magic

All but the Roc are adds, and they are spawned @66 & 33% it seems. The adds give the Roc what is seemingly -99% DT, meaning you will have to kill the adds no matter what.

The Roc itself seems to be a BRD/THF kinda mob, casting songs throughout the battle, but nothing meaningful that I could tell. It also has a WS that removes a single buff. Outside of this however nothing seems to hit very hard at all and there are no powerful AoEs like there were last month. All in all if you've a balanced party, I'd think you should be able to crush this in less than 2~3 minutes a run even on VD without much trouble.

How shitty is the fight. Regular farming of Intense can make ambuscade farming a lot easier but so far it's hardly been worth trying Intense over Regular.

Haven't tried it. I'm the only person awake in my LS. :/

Also, only Quadavs have been not worth it in my opinion. Orcs were cleavable with BLUs spamming Entomb and Yags were sleepable with Troub/Night Lullaby. Neither took more than 5 mins on VD.

Yeah I did Yagudo's a bit last week, issue is my static has me as the only "real DD" as I'm gearing up some new returnees on new characters so it's a bit slower than having two DD's around my level.

5 second deploy recast for PUP (and other pet jobs) is major win; automaton ranged attack buff is okay, but I went full VE months ago, and I love fighting along with my little tankbot now.

Another cape augment category? MORE ACC! (And to those of you complaining about keeping 12 capes upgraded, seriously? You play ALL those jobs ALL the time? Prioritize!)

More effects on food item descriptions, yay, long overdue, and enough work that I can see why they're doing it a few at a time.

Smite? Nice to see that I get some free ATT while I'm busy trying to get my ACC to keep up with the higher level content, I guess.

Riding a chocobo or mount in Attohwa Chasm while participating in the timed event to traverse Parradamo Tor will cause the event to fail.
I think it might even be harder to do that with 200% movement speed, you'd keep falling off.

And sad to not see WotG areas added for mounts. Only four new areas?

Resolved Issues
The issue wherein it was not possible to fish up an orobon in the assault Desperately Seeking Cephalopods.
Really? How would have anyone been able to tell? Maybe someone at SE was looking at the old code for the hell of it?

Known Issues
It is possible to move to locations ordinarily inaccessible in The Sanctuary of Zi’Tah and Escha – Zi’Tah.
Sounds like a hole in the wall bug, which will probably be tricky to fix unless they kept one or two PS2 dev systems around, because it would be in the 3D assets.

Now I want to know how and go there!

That is the point a lot of us have already done the "other content" and this isn't "new" either.

I'm going to just assume that random job trait was just an arbitrary addition and that it was not the actual "2 Hander update" we were all expecting. It can't be. There has to be more to come.
