Which Congress? The only one that was considered that was 2008-2010, which is when Congress had a democrat/liberal super-majority.

Sure, you will probably attribute that movement to 2010 onward, but in reality, that movement started when Obama was elected, also when his party had the supermajority.

Either you're intentionally being dishonest or blinded by bias.

P.P.A.C.A
A.R.R.A
Dodd-Frank
Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan's appointment to the Supreme Court.

All occurred in 2009-10, before the 2010 elections.

You clearly have a strange recollection of events. Especially when the term do nothing congress was coined in 2014 and attributed to the 113th serving from 2013-15'.

Using those as examples, a "Do-Nothing" Congress actually helped the nation much more than that Congress ever even attempted.

No, I'm referring to the whole "Let's make Obama a one-term president" movement that pretty much escalated to what is known as the Tea Party. That is the "Do-Nothing" Congress that you are so familiar with.

Like ISIS, Obama created the Tea Party. Or are you going to deny that too?

Thank you for validating my point that they said "*** that noise".

You're missing something here and it goes right before the word "created", that word is "indirectly".

Obama created the Tea Party? Not years of Republicans alienating their base resulting in a counter-movement designed not only to stick it to Democrats but also sitting, bloated Republican establishment and their continued servitude at the altar of corporate interests?

You give Obama far too much credit.

My doctor is a bit of a loon.

He said my entire diet should consist of nothing but red meat, rice, water, and milk.

Then again, he's still using archaic and outdated means of measuring things.

You give Obama far too much credit.
So, you honestly think the Tea Party would still exist if it wasn't for Obama and his overreaching policies?

You do remember why the party was made, right?

And no, not because they are racists.

But keep deflecting blame away from Obama. It's cute.

I think we are in a better position of paying Congress to do nothing than to waste it in pet projects that does not improve anyone's way-of-life and/or help stir the economy in the right direction.

Calling out your almost parody-like affinity for blaming the president for everything isn't a personal insult.

If Bernie wants to prove (or any other candidate ftm) that they are a man of the ppl and not just another puppet to steal from middle class small business Americans handing over all to corporated big business monopolies. Then let them speak on the FDA hot topic subject themselves. That will show just whom they cater to the most. Otherwise I buy into any of thier BS cuz it's just business as usual no matter how yall slice it.

I'm not deflecting away from Obama, I am however telling you as a matter of fact that Obama wasn't the sole reason the Tea Party formed. The Tea Party would have formed regardless of Obama and he acted as a lightning rod more than anything else to galvanize that group. The group is pushback against both Dems and Republicans they see as not serving their interests.

Yeah you said that earlier. Nobody cares about the FDA. Its not a "hot topic," its not even a topic. It won't be addressed by anyone. Go update your silly thread or something.

But to get addressing the point attempted to be made. The sentiments that ignited into what became the tea party movement began in reaction to T.A.R.P of 2008'. Politicians then fueled the fire in response to A.R.R.A . Which spurred the movement with backing by a political party.

T.A.R.P is where it started. That wasn't the Obama Administration.

Nice attempt though.

Hiya!

So, despite my attempts to the contrary, I'll be taking a more active role in P+R moderation for the foreseeable future. There's at least one known issue with the reporting system, so if something happens and I don't see it/etc, shoot me a PM.

Big Government is here to stay, woo hoo
