The ACA is not socialized healthcare. You are not paying for anyone's surgeries. The insurance company is, and another person's healthcare is not your business no matter how much you want to pretend like it affects you.
Besides Altima, who doesn't know the difference, who else is saying that it is?

This isn't Canada™.

How is me paying a tax to subsidize insurance companies, so they can give cheaper or free healthcare to people, not paying for someone else surgeries?
What tax?

The tax for not having insurance? The taxes I pay for medicare and Medicaid, those are not really "free" you know?

If you're paying taxes which go to the government and the government pays Obama for being president...you're putting money directly in Obama's pocket, one fraction of a cent at a time.

Paying for insurance is not the same as paying for the surgery.

Remember, even if the government is paying for the insurance, the insured still has to pay for the deductible. They are still paying for a portion of the surgery at hand. Unless that surgery costs more than $6,350 and/or the deductible amount of the insurance, that is.

But remember, these insurance plans the government is paying (part or all) are high deductible plans....

Naw, it's part of the ACA, one of the few parts that actually made sense.

That's the limit, and it's not adjusted for inflation, so that limit stays. It's a yearly limit, though.

Fairly certain it has been established that the ACA was passed against the will of the people. The Democrats lost control of both the senate and the house because of it. But w/e helps you sleep at night.

Follow the cash, and ownership of that cash.

When it goes from the government's hands to the insurance's hands, it stops being classified as public money and is now classified as private money.

It's like people on disability who vote hard, hard, hard right.

Makes me laugh. In their face.

Literally.

In the correct use of the word.

No it hasn't. And no, losing the Senate had way more to do with the Senate map over anything else. I've said this many times, if the Senate map from 2014 and 2016 were reversed, the Dems would still easily hold the Senate with the GOP primed to take over this year. I'm guessing they would prefer this looking at the state of things.

It's one very specific case.

And I can't give any more details because there's an outside chance of that person seeing this and I'd hate that person to think I'm outing them about their disability and/or political beliefs.

...that may be redundant.
