Because there isn't a wall or fence on Mexico's Southern Border. It's a myth started by "American's for Common Sense" who used photos of the Arizona-Mexico border's fence.

Because it's a lie it annoys people.

Closest thing you can call a fence is La Bestia and that's a train that moves through Central America and Mexico.

Right? It's not like there's private property seized around Brownsville and along the border. Mmmm...That big guv'mnt stepping in (we like big government if it keeps the crown people out).

Why do non-border staters get more flustered about immigration than borders staters do on here? I would really like to know. We've been in a more heterogeneous atmosphere than you since the 80's and 90's.

I didn't realize they did? I got a reason though! Cause they are making their way farther north! Give it another 10 years and Canada is going to be apologizing for not taking in more of Americas illegal immigrants sooner!

That came off creepier than intended.

But the point is the minimum age varies state to state for elected offices but 18 is the youngest you can be. Some states it's 21 others it is 18.

You didn't realize? Super! That absolves everything. Hopefully, your children will be more well-rounded.

One of my best friends for about fourteen years was an illegal immigrant who didn't apply for legal status until after her fifth wedding anniversary. She teaches Spanish, she has paid taxes since HS, she is loving to the extent that she shaved her hair in solidarity to one of her students going through chemo therapy only to be diagnosed with cancer two years later.

Her entire family is a delight. Her father is a mechanic who brought his family here in the 80's.

Another, who is more or less an acquaintance from college, is a TV producer based out of Houston.

You fear what you don't know. Some of us have been acclimated for a long time.

You misunderstand and assume much.

She obviously grew up in, and obviously learned the customs and language of America. She is also now a citizen? Great good for her. Does that mean her parents breaking the law was right? Does that mean that as long as something good comes out of it any law can be broken without any concern for.. well..anything..

Screw it. No need to have any laws then right?

This has always been an odd angle for the leftist to get behind since they love making more laws to keep people down. Although I guess guaranteed votes from more people in search for handouts Trumps everything else.

If there were waves of conservative-minded individuals crossing the borders on a regular basis, Hillary Clinton would be the one calling for a wall.

Often end up in discussions with people here about immigration, usually without them realizing I am an immigrant until well past the point of embarrassment, ending in "oh but you are OK!/I don't mean you!"

There are stereotypes of immigrants which people fear. How those relate to reality is rarely considered important.

You don't have to stereotype illegal immigrants to be against illegal immigration. There are reasons border protection exists beyond xenophobia.

Bernie - a man of the people, for the people, by the people

Vs

Bernie - just another billionare backed by corruption from lobbyists whom will never do exactly what he preaches

Me making the point is actually harder than Bernie himself proving the point by speaking out against

I would like to hear all the candidates tbh and thier thoughts on the subject.

The irony being the % of Catholics supposedly coming across and that they're very conservative.

But those pesky facts.

Are we still going to pretend that all "illegal immigrants" are border hoppers from Mexico? Just checking.
