Supposedly was going back and forth for a bit until a family member confirmed it.
He had cancelled some shows in the last few days due to illness. I just want tomorrow to be Jan1st 2017 already. Spare us the rest of our icons and heroes. wonder if its related to his hip problems

seriously between bowie and prince. the strides they made to push not just music, but what it is to be a person... just... so few people can ever match. wtf 2016 seriously.
truly helped make the world a better and less prudish place. forever *** missed. also he was a bit of a *** about his music being on the internet so you wont be able to find many youtube videos that didn't get cease and desist letters. i'll be playing 1999 on repeat for the rest of the day. rip the man who tamed the little red corvette ; ;

Prince though he is not as big as he was when I was growing up, he is no less a Massive talent lost.

Prince is just one of those artists that even when you didn't like what he was doing you had to respect it because he created what he wanted to create, not what labels or trends dictated he create.
And his talents were just absolutely unbelievable. I hate to sound snooty but if you're not a musician at all I think it's hard to appreciate exactly what the man was capable of. The world really has lost an unbelievably gifted artist.

Bringing up Weiland is interesting, because I always thought one of Prince's underrated talents was how sane he stayed, despite all the fame, and all the talent. Fame and fortune has broken a lot of truly gifted artists, and it never laid a glove on Prince.
