I saw this on facebook. "Cop bodyslams 12 year old to the ground" or whatever.
Okay first of all, that was not a body slam. If anything that was an attempt at an underarm belly to back suplex, and was superbotched.
Secondly what do these people want? If the cop hadn't stepped in and done what needed to be done then in 5 minutes two girls would be pulling each others hair and slamming each other into the ground while everyone yells WORLD STAR WORLD STAR and someone uploads it as "Rachet *** ho slams *** *** trick" instead of "Bad cop blah blah blah". Then everyone would *** and moan about how no one stepped in and did anything and "Where is the security, are our children not important enough to protect them from each other??"
Seriously stop treating each other like *** animals and the police won't have to treat you way.

If I recall what I read correctly (and assuming it was correct) the incident was already over. If that's the case, then anything other than a "talking to" would have been overboard.
However what occurred in that clip was way overboard, especially considering there was nothing that warranted physical contact.

Yet violence isn't the answer to violence. But 'Murica, etc.

Sometimes it is though. Sometimes you have to just beat the unholy *** out of someone, break their will to fight.

Seriously though, the younger you teach them that lesson the better.
I didn't go to school and pick fights with everyone I saw, because I knew if I went to the principals office and my mom found out my *** would be toast.
When I did fight a couple times, and won, I was more apt to do it. Once I got my *** kicked a couple times, it was time to stop that ***and I knew it.
I don't see any problem with putting it to your kid to teach them a lesson, as long as they can function when you are done.

See most people don't pick fights with everyone they see because of far more civil reasons. But I get it, you were taught that violence is the answer to "teach a lesson" many others were taught that too.
It's time to move past it.

Thankfully lillica is not a parent. Why? Because he believes that punishing your kid by hitting them (usually on the butt) for misbehavior is a bad thing?
Now that we experienced, what, 1 or 2 generations of "don't spank your kids, that doesn't help" mentality, we are left with more violence in schools than we were beforehand.
At least, more excessive violence being reported than before.
I grew up getting beatings (spankings to those who knows) when I *** up bad, like getting into fights at school or breaking stuff (usually expensive vases at neighbor's houses or stuff like that). I got them from my mother when she was alive, I got them from my father too. Just once, I got them from both (I beat the ***out of a kid who was messing with my sister, broke both of his arms and a couple of ribs. Kid had to be rushed to the hospital, my parents found out and they took turns spanking me. I think I was 10 at the time, but I didn't fight ever again because of that.)
Either way, I believe (hint: an opinion for those who doesn't know better) that the lack of parents willing to punish their children is a major cause of the increase in school violence today.

Plenty of kids grow up without ever being beaten and don't pick fights with anyone.
So implying that beating them is a necessity to avoid that, is completely false.

Police are more "respond and arrest" than "Protect and serve."
They have been for a long time.

Yes, but ignorant Americans love to think that using force gets their point across. That won't end anytime soon.
Yet they made bullying illegal and spend money on antibullying programs!
There's times for "violence" (self defense, etc), but when it comes to adults and children violence shouldn't be involved.

Dear non-parents,
I'm sure you've heard this a lot, but let me be the latest to inform you: unless you've got some specialized training, you know ***-all about disciplining children and their greater effects on society. There is nothing you could be less informed about.
And no, nieces and nephews don't count. Being in the trenches every day shows you the undeniable truth that no technique works for every child. This era of children with no restraint is not a result of decreased physical violence, it's a result of parenting in general being more lax. You don't have to hit a child to discipline them, you just have to, you know, discipline them.
That means spending a lot of time on it, and a lot of your child being mad at you, which is where most people fall down. Too many parents want their child to be their friend, and that just isn't how that relationship is meant to work.

Eh, your first part is a bit off imo. Mostly because I've had the same exact stance since way before I was a parent, and it's stayed on course.

But I'll agree, there is a lack of proper, non-abusive punishment.
Indeed.

Most of my theories about child rearing held up. I didn't know until I was in the thick of it.
We're basically on the same side, here, though.

But to be fair it happened in a school. Were it on the street he would probably have shot her.

A few did. I've heard more derision and scoffing for anti-bullying than I have support.
Could just be the people I'm around more than anything, though.
