Laugh it up. Rack up the likes.
You popular guy Rav. All those likes got nothing to do with you being 100% right. I'll say this, you got Vic writing more than 2-3 sentences. Congratulations! That wasn't a real bet was it.? /panic
Sit over there in your corner, I'm still waiting to hear how Gitmo could have been closed.
Perhaps you should get out of your corner and open your eyes. You get proven wrong over and over. It's kinda sad.. Just admit you're wrong and be done with it.. Hell, even I admit when I am wrong.

Well I'm sure glad that Obama hadn't even tried to do anything with it until after he signed a defense bill that prohibits the Pentagon from using any funds to close it. Shove something in at the last moment when you've had years (and better ones at that) to do it, watch it fail, blame the other guys, and behold his lackeys follow suit with "dang those GOPs!!1!". Never hurts to have a scapegoat for yet another weak attempt at fulfilling a campaign promise.
It's been fun. I'm going to have a more productive argument with a wall just so I can end on a better note before going to sleep.

You and altima can go together, having not actually shown anything other than GOP obstructionism. Gitmo remains open and a huge waste of money, because of the GOP. The funny thing is they are gonna keep it open as long as they can for no reason other than to spite Obama, even after he is out of office.
You get proven wrong over and over.
Certainly not something you have accomplished, ever. Certainly hasn't happened tonight.

So yeah, just a heads up for those of you who think the report button is a way to get rid of people you don't like, I will be topic banning you till the next RP&R thread and removing your report functions if I get any more BS reports.
Tired of opening up the report section just to see reports against each other cause you have differing opinions. Part of debating isn't crying to mommy because you can't think up something to dispute the other person.
Keep calm and carry on. Could you just change the text from "report" to "I need my safe space"?

With all this preaching of equality, it's no wonder that the Right doesn't take the Left's racism claims seriously. Racism against minorities is allegedly rampant, yet racism against the majority apparently doesn't exist and/or isn't worth mentioning because... reasons? Whites are apparently systematically holding minorities back and denying them "privileges", yet whites look at their white friends and family and can't find anyone actually doing that. Whites and minorities can be equally yoked educationally and economically, but which one of those groups will end up getting more scholarships by default?
If you want to preach equality, you have to preach equality. Address the issue of racism in all its forms, whether it's politically expedient or not. Don't just sit there and point the finger constantly at one group and then proceed to get mad when they don't join you after you've mocked them and given them labels because they were born with the more common skin color. You're not only alienating people, you're embracing blind racial prejudice that's not seen as racist only because it's politically correct. The racial majority has secured their advocacy by being the largest and most influential (politically and financially) group in the country. All your doing is trying to dilute minority efforts to act in their self interest by over-broadening the scope of the problem (please see: #blacklivesmatter vs #alllivesmatter). Not a new trick.
Every time the topic wanders into racial territory, the default counter-reaction is minimization of the concerns and/or immediate dismissal. Every. Time. Without fail. Even now you talk about how white people and their friends don't see what all the bitching is about as if that has ***to do with anything.
There are large disparities between majority and minority groups in the U.S. That doesn't mean the problems associated with this or that the majority are the vengeful perpetrators. It just means that certain groups of people are impacted by the contributing factors disproportionately more than other groups. I'm well aware that racial discussions here are handled with all the delicacy and nuance of a bathroom hook-up, but I don't see why the conversation gets stalled at the same place so aggressively.

But hatred is not necessary part of that. hatred is what happens when anger and ignorancesuffering are not processed healthily in an individual. ftfy Suffering creates the anger. Ignorance makes the anger hatred. This only makes sense if you are talking of hatred towards a group of people, like some type of discrimination.
Because towards a single individual abstract from any specific demographic, say an ex lover for example, ignorance has nothing to do with it at all. Hate is a reverse form of affection, which is why it's hard to let go someone you hate almost as much as someone you love. As a matter of fact the same hormone involved in deep love is also involved in negative feelings associated with it, oxytocine. It's why it's often said the line between love and hate is thin.

Perhaps we can say that ignorance "can" lead to hate, and maybe that's what Josi meant.

Teddy, FDR, Clinton, and Obama have been my favorites.
While Jackson was a jerkoff. He certainly was a badass.
I like Jefferson, even with all his crazy faults. Also (hate to bandwagon) but FDR is rather high up there too.

Use preview, or learn to enjoy the absurdity. I'm actually a little surprised how popular the no-edit change has been; I expected a lot more negative sentiment, but even the people it bites in the *** seem to find it funny. We could use more humor in these threads, since we're not exactly filling them up with sane policy decisions or enlightened discourse.

The problem I have is that I frequently will make a post and then go, "I can make this better with an image!"
...no more.

And now see? I used spoiler wrong and I can't fix it! Or something is just *** with me. I don't know.

Nah, they're just broken in some cases; my fixes to them over the months aren't applied right now, for reasons it's not worth going into (deploy issues).
If it works in preview (it does), and not on the page, then that's the JS *** up. It'll be fixed next time things get deployed.

Encourage diversity in media ownership, He sure is doing such a good job.
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/dems-on-fec-target-conservatives-vote-to-punish-maker-of-anti-obama-movie/article/2587898
Quote: The three Democrats on the Federal Election Commission, in their latest and boldest move to regulate conservative media, voted in unison to punish a movie maker critical of President Obama after he distributed for free his latest work, Dreams of My Real Father: A Story of Reds and Deception.
But despite giving the same exemption to liberal movie makers like Michael Moore and Daily Kos, the Democrats recently voted against Gilbert in a February action, reviving their bid to punish conservative media, a campaign initially targeting online news outlets like the Drudge Report.

Remember the baker who refused to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple?
There are examples of religion trumping capitalism (granted, on an individual basis).
I would posit that this is, rather, exactly capitalism, and someone is hedging that enough people are on their side that they can use their religion to garner support, publicity, and -- in the end -- more money.
Whether it works or not is merely the natural extension of capitalist risk. I don't know.
Capitalism requires companies/people to sell to other companies/people without prejudice. Meaning, I'll sell you land over the Atlantic Ocean if you are willing to pay for it, and it doesn't matter if I'm anti-gay and you are married to Pleebo.
Only time where capitalism requires you to not sell to another is if you know or you have a good cause to not sell based on the ability to receive funds. Again, using the example, I wouldn't sell you that land over the Atlantic Ocean if I knew or had reason to believe that you wouldn't pay me. Even though you may be willing to buy that land, your lack of funds prevent us from having a transaction.
That baker wasn't participating in capitalism when he choose not to sell to that gay couple. He participated in discrimination.
So why did it take the US until the 1960s to magically become free for people of all genders and races to participate in the market? Are you confusing economic systems with social systems again?
To progressives they are the same thing. Ergo every wealthy white heterosexual male is an oppressor, and every poor black homosexual female is the oppressed. I wonder if our voices would carry more weight if we were poor black-hispanic transgender otherkin? You sure do play the victim real well sav....

How did I miss that gem, it's comedy gold.
Doesn't matter what it is, or about, or anything. The fact the government is trying to censor anything should be grounds for everyone to be up in arms.

Perhaps I'm reading it wrong, but he wasn't being censored.
He would have been forced to reveal his donors.
There's a significant difference.
Still problematic, though, if all other things are equal. Though this article isn't particularly candid about how equal the footing is between this and the liberal films mentioned.
I think any political propaganda should be required to declare donors/funding, personally.

So you don't know and dismiss a law forbidding it as "logistical problems." Ok then. Its pretty simple, Congress passes a law to close Gitmo, its closed. The completely neutralized prisoners stay in prison secured in the US. I mean, have we even heard of any escapes from Gitmo? I wonder what makes conservatives think it would be any different in a US based facility. But lets just go with "Not in our backyard."
They're already in the backyard. The highest ranking and most dangerous terrorists that are in our custody aren't kept at Gitmo they're in Florence Colorado.

Funny randomness.
King Harald of Norway came to Italy to meet our leaders.
Now, royal protocols require that is the person with the highest nobility rank to offer their hand to those with a lower one, and never viceversa.
Renzi doesn't know this and offers his hand to the king.
King ignores him.
King moves on and offers to shake hands with random people.
lol.

We just keep on failing with any world leader that comes to see us lol. A month or two ago Rouhani came to visit and we accepted to put clothes on all the statues in Rome so he wouldn't be offended by their nudity.
Can only imagine what will be next. Maybe Renzi will carry Merkel piggyback all around town.
