I think the augments you get use global variables, not local or player-dependent ones (like PSO and old games like that), right?

I've only missed a single DM campaign and a few days here and there since the release, and to me Phalanx has been the most rare augment to appear by far*
By comparison WSD is still somewhat rare but I've seen it waaaaaay more times than Phalanx (seen it go above 5% only once though, with a fat 7%).
I've seen a whooooole lot of TH and Refresh though, even with the max value of +2. Some people seem to be chasing them and I've seen more than I want to remember.

Altough... the Refresh/TH table only has 2 values, 1 and 2. So WHEN you get it, chances you get the capped value are very high (50%?), whereas with tables like Phalanx (5 values) or WSD (10 values) of course it's gonna be more rare to see the max value.


I can't entirely complain btw. On the 4 pieces where I'm hunting for Phalanx I managed to get 3x Phalanx+4 and 1x Phalanx+5.

I meant among the "relevant" augs that most people seem to be chasing. I didn't really take into account stupid augs that nobody cares about, some of which I might have seen even less than Phalanx for all I care and remember.

I do not believe refresh +2 is equally as probable as +1

That's a possibility, that not all possible ranks have the same chance to be extracted by the randomizer.

I think it might be like that in some augment systems (Alluvion Skirmish?), not sure if this is the case for DM or Oseem in general.

I think it would be hard to verify but I don't see why not.
PERSONALLY I've seen so many Refresh+2 and TH+2, definitely not noticeably less than +1, could've been even higher to be fair.
But here we're talking about "just" two values so that could be the culprit skewing the results.

meanwhile i've seen plenty of phalanx+3~5 but ive yet to see a single WSD over 6 or refresh above 1

A lot of my LS mates were complaining about the rarity of TH and Refresh, and I found it ironic because I've always had so many of them.
Wonder if it changes according to the type of set?
I've only used DM on Chironic, Merlinic and Hercluean.
I don't remember if I've seen lotsa TH+2 on Merlinic (I've seen lotsa refresh+2) but I've had plenty of both on Chironic and especially Herculean, where I have the largest sample because I've been hunting Phalanx+5 there for years, whereas I haven't attempted to DM augment Chironic or Merlinic in long, long time.

Yeah, I always get a ton of TH+ and have multiples of TH+2 on every character already. Same with refresh+2.

But macc and phalanx are like pulling teeth.

You remember getting what you don't want and forget you got what you do want - the human bias.

It's possible rates were changed but with no previous data to work with and just the amount of augments DM can spew at you it's really difficult to say one way or the other and it not just be personal bad luck.

Seems legit, considering you have to earn/buy dark matter. Didn't Philemon's SS show a higher roll with DM than what we are seeing from campaigns?


I feel like affixes that have a wider spread of values to roll are generally more rare. Like TH and Refresh only roll +1 or +2 so a capped roll is less rare than a capped DT/phalanx roll, which is less rare than a capped WSD roll.

DM giving higher stats would mean someone at the SE team knows how to manipulate the Rng enough so it only *** you just enough so you won't know it's doing it.

I don't think they have anyone that competent.

It would be fair if using matters gave his results more commonly, but also encourage RMT. They could just alleviate us with some all job refresh+2 pieces. Granted TH caps at +4 and there are two all job accessories with+1 all job armour sets this is less important. Phalanx pieces are very powerful and should remain on DM rng though

Been clearing out some old stuff and came across something I got a while ago. I just got WAR leveled and geared and was wondering if this is worth anything.


*There's also a native Critical Hit Rate +2 on the mask.

To be fair, this could just as easily explain why they are different when we'd all expected them to be the same. They could have meant them to be equal but crossed spaghetti beams.


The other phalanx augs use stones that offer varied rates for their rolls. Taupe/Pellucid/Fern offer higher cap for most attributes and affixes. It could be a thing /shrug

High MAcc and any MND is already a dream, but if they had also hit +5?
