So how are some people so rich nowadays that can just spend 300 million on a curse +1 gear? What are their methods? What are your methods? What are your methods as a group?

Old methods like salvage or dynamis really doesn't give u good ratio of Gil per time anymore. Delve might still be good since pelts are still needed. Reisenjima stones are no good as well as everyone is selling these. Only guarantee is roe during gain exp time. Can get slits/Jps and Gil.

But people can pay 300 million for a cursed +1 gear. How are people making that much Gil besides saving it over time? Lol

At the risk of sounding ridiculous, you might wanna try making cursed gear.

-vagary boss items
-reisenjima stones
-heavy metal plates, and on top of that the synth materials (ingots add up very quickly, which leads to the next point)
-craft items
-unity trigger items for escha
-log in campaign mule spamming
-selling merc services

some people had deep pockets from a while ago that they never let up on, hence why now they are balling out at the 'end' of FFXI.

The people who actually make gil won't be releasing their secrets to you. Because then they wouldn't make as much.

Many of the absurdly rich individuals you come across have multiple accounts. Log-in campaigns, sparks farming, multiple crafts leveled; they're able to take advantage of so much more than somebody with only one account. They're also able to clear whatever content they would like using just their characters, therefore maximizing profits. This becomes particularly effective during certain campaigns.

Think about the Vagary campaign. Using 4 characters to clear all 5 zones, getting 10-15 expensive drops there, and then getting another 4-8 expensive drops from the KI turn-in. That's going to add up very nicely.

Or look at the most recent WKR campaign. If you quad-boxed that, you're looking at a minimum of 16 HP Bayld every ~3 minutes, or 320 HP Bayld an hour. That's 9.6m an hour, not to mention the chances for Bayld boxes, the bonus Bayld from the reives themselves, and any additional Delve items that may drop. Somebody who properly takes advantage of particularly lucrative campaigns could easily be looking at a billion gil a month.

Your answer is not ridiculous at all.

OP,

Anyone can come up with 20-30 mil in a few weeks. You mentioned xp gain RoE. If you grind xp for those 4 hours the 3 times a week it comes up, that's 15 mil right there. Add salvage to that, avg 120 alex/run at 7k each, and you'll have made 25 mil in 10 days if you run salvage once a day.

Now someone who can craft desired and expensive item has the means to collect all this gil other saved up. Then they can go out and spend 300mil on what they want.

Keep in mind, not EVERYONE is running around spending that kind of gil. Some people are.

There are some people who happen to have considerable gil from exploits, but let's disregard that because it doesn't help or apply the majority of us.

Crafting has potential, but I think it strongly coincides with 1) luck and 2) the demand for the pieces. A Goldsmith friend of mine noticed that he didn't have many good options since there's a glut of Souveran -1 floating around our server (goldsmithing, despite the costs, seems to be very popular). If you luck out with a HQ, you're still stuck with finding a buyer, not to mention dealing with all your NQs.

Anyway, a brief list of stuff that still has some good value (at least on ol' Sylph):
- Vagary stuff, Dark Matter especially right now
- Delve items, notably Cehuetzi Pelts and Waktza Crests
- Voidwalker mats, notably Ethereal Squama and Befouled Silver
- Voidwatch stuff, notably HMPs, cinders, Sealord Skins (mats for relic 119 crashed hard due to a recent login campaign)
- Some Legion materials like Ormolu ingots and Staghorn Corals
- Unity materials, notably Escha pops
- Alluvion Skirmish stones (surprisingly, skirmish is still a thing)
- Eschalixirs, with a guaranteed +2 for each Azi Dahaka/Naga Raja if you max your evaluation
- ye olde currencies

...and I just realized I more or less repeated everything ikariiiii said. Oh well.

Also, another thing to keep in mind, people with any kind of money are the ones who never type "/l i'm sooo bored." Instead, they are always out, doing something.

I know the abyssea era is over but, are leech parties for cp or slits still a thing? Not sure if you can get banned for those parties.

Sometimes people let a friend leech, but there's no more organized shouts where people sell spots. Anyways, in escha, the xp drops pretty bad when you're more than 6 people.

I know people who still do sell spots in those parties, but it isn't through shouts because they don't want people to think they're RMT.

Use kill bot > convert Sparks/UNM Points > Profit. Do this for months. Seen people obviously doing this for months without even a slap on the wrist from GMs.

multiboxing significantly increases your chances of gil, here are some things i like to do with 3-6 characters.

1. farm palloritus with one of my friends using GEO SCH BLM PLD WHM (~7.5m/hr each, >9m/hr when vagary campaign for enhanced memories)

2. CP during gain exp (>5m/hr but *** mind numbing)

3. manaburning wopket (~5 kills an hour, anywhere between 1.5m-3m plasm/hr depending on how many characters i feel like taking)

4. farming yorcia skirmish 3/3/3s (about 13min a run... not sure it's really worth it anymore)

5. farming reisenjima stones, can do about 35 kills of sang buaya in an hour depending on how fast your popper runs back and forth (assuming trusts)

6. HPB farming during WKR campaigns, i don't particularly like doing this one unless i'm giving the hpb to an LS mate to finish their idris. if you feel like it, can easily break 10m/hr with 3 characters+

can't really help you on non multi-box'd methods cause i don't think i'd know how to make gil without multiple characters

Like said before a lot of individuals took advantage of the blinker era back in the day to the max and would have several accounts with max gil. Some had them deactivated for a long time while they were banning people then would bring them back to life a year later.

Well I was going more for the legit ways during double XP. You can make several million 3 times a week. 12 hours about 21-22m gil if you know what to buy and sell with sparks accolades.

Or you can just 6Bot it like many others have suggested, but if you want to be gil rich whilst draining the wallet who is to stop you.

Part of the reason that cursed gear is so expensive is because of the price of the materials. Take a look at some of the pieces and the mats that go into them. You can probably make a lot of gil by farming one of those.

I know people who used to do this who did get a slap on the wrist. My bet is no one has reported these people yet.

It's like buying gil without the stigma of being a gil buyer. "But the difference is i work for it" no you just do the same things most people do but with 3-6x the profit per time spent because you bought digital pack mules. Not saying anything is wrong with it, but you have to call it what it is. People seem to have issues with one but not the other.

6 million Gil per hour just by cping/exping during gain?
Do you mean like selling party slots to leeches? Or is there some form of converting Capacity points into Gil I didn't know about.
Or do you mean one specific camp where you go there and then sell the monster's drops?

Convert sparks/unity points to gil. You can cap both really fast if you AoE in Reisenjima/escha.

initially said that i use multiple characters. i've taken 6 characters out to a camp before (moh gates), but there are faster camps now (sharks/anything in reisenjima) and i'd just build them up to spark cap and dump them all. 6 characters would be 6m if all capped and i imagine you could probably get at least a full cycle in under an hour depending on how strong the characters you kill with are.

He was speaking for multi boxing, a solo person could't go that fast.
