Are people here really contesting that voting for Obama was sold to many people as an end to racism in America?
Anyone remember moochelle telling everyone that for the first time in her life she was "proud of her country"?
Fools.
Obama was also sold to many people as a muslism kenyan with a forged birth certificate. So what's your point?
Communist, socialist, gay, atheist. Dont forget the man's full title.

Where's Ihina to complain about the "same thing, both sides" conversation you guys are having?

Did anyone buy the magic hippie cloud nonsense that Obama was the panacea to America's problems? Cause those people aren't much different than birthers to me. Color me optimistic but I ain't that pie in the sky.
What I did believe was Obama was both a step in the right direction for an America that has had bitter racial divides since inception and that he was a better choice than McCain/Palin. Palin could have took some of the wind out of Obama's sails then she opened her mouth and revealed her hand.
I expected more from Obama he did the one job he couldn't fail at: Inspire future generations of diverse politicians.

If your greatest achievement is "inspiring politicians", that's troubling.

Hilary doners must be getting skittish at that news. There will be a backlash against her, and at the very least she'll grab the party across the line kicking and screaming. I'm not entirely sure she'll make it to the nomination.
I'm trying imagine the thought processes required to believe this tripe but I'm failing.
Hillary has a fair chance of running unopposed in the primary, and an almost 100% chance of running against no serious opposition. She is the heir apparent. The Democratic party sees her as the inevitable candidate, more even than the GOP saw Romney in 2012. She'll be the nominee by a landslide, and she'll be the next president by a comfortable margin, barring some bombshell of epic proportions (murdering a homeless man MIGHT be enough to keep her out of the Oval Office).
I don't like this scenario either as an actual liberal, but I'm also not going to let my biases cloud the reality of the situation. Hillary is the best-prepared candidate, she's tough, stuff doesn't stick to her, and most importantly in our broken political system, she's the best-funded by far. No, she's not likable. But she can probably tone that down to get through the presidential debates.

And here's where Nausi comes in and affirms that black people are racist, QED, it's all over now, surrender your duel disk and hand over your star chips. You win Yami, just spare my friends. I like them not Shadow Realm'd.
Or maybe the historical significance of a black man, in America, a country noted for slaving said individuals for the better part of 3 centuries, elevating a black dude to the most powerful position on Earth brings a sense of catharsis in many black people (globally) regardless of political leanings.
But what do I know!
As a black person, a big +1 to this. I can say that I'm disappointed in Obama as a president, though he's been far and away better than George W. Bush, but as a symbol of change in America? We went from being lynched and not having voting rights in many states to the White House in 40 years. Even Condoleezza Rice shed tears.

Probably not. I think this points out the problem with our political system. Being a good candidate requires different attributes than being a good president.

The idea that she won before she was already elected gives me hope. Hopefully, she will have an epic failure that will prevent her from being President.
Granted the Republican candidates leave a lot to be desired but they have to have someone more likeable than Hillary...
Given the choice between Satan and Hillary it would be a tough call as who is more likeable !

I'm already prepared for the borderline feminists to come out in droves to support their fellow woman.
Giving young girls hope that if you are a first lady you too can be President.

You're not accounting for the amount of epic failures that can occur in a primary field that includes Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, and will likely include such luminaries as Jeb Bush, Bobby Jindal, Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, and Ben Carson. Can Hillary outflub this rogues gallery? I doubt it.

The idea of another Bush vs Clinton is beyond boring so much that I probably won't pay attention.
Jeb Bush wouldn't even vote for Jeb Bush.
If the Republicans want to give the election away they will nominate a weak candidate.
A Mitt Romney by any other name is still Mitt Romney...

Hence why I didn't list Walker with the others. He's not nearly as likely to shoot himself in the foot. At the same time, I don't think he is capable of beating Hillary in the general election. Democratic voter turnout will be very high in a presidential election year. Sadly the GOP is crippled by an aging, shrinking demographic.
In a year and a half, I'll say I told you so ;)

Democrats will not turn out as much as you expect, because all any of the GOP will have to say is that Hillary is Obama 2.0.

This didn't hurt literal Obama 2.0 in 2012. Why would this hurt Hillary? I think much of it depends on women voters. Will women show up for Hillary?

Will women show up for Hillary? 1) Thank you for admitting that the overall strategy is to guilt people into voting for liberal/democrats. I mean, it obviously worked for Obama, right?
2) Because now there are 8 years of "more of the same no change."
Let me ask you this: If you don't vote for Hillary, does that make you a sexist pig?

Eh? What I said has nothing to do with guilt. I would expect women to come out and vote slightly higher for a fellow woman in an election of historical significance. Blacks did, around 8-10% higher compared to presidential elections of the prior two decades. On the other hand, women aren't a very unified voting block, and (from what I see) many women don't identify as a minority group, even though women are probably the most oppressed minority.
As for your question, no. You may not vote for Hillary and not be a sexist pig. But just because you don't vote for Hillary doesn't mean that you aren't a sexist pig, either.
