I do have a huge Problem.
whenever i try to reach youtube, google, even my online banking account i get greeted with "site not available".

There is a "details" button on the bottom.
The reason given for not connecting to google or other sites (even my SE-account) is "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED"

The same does happen on my smartphone as well when i am logged in my wireless. But it works when i shut down my wireless and use the internet connection over my cellphone provider.

Yahoo does not work as it has the same issues.

And to topp it off i suddenly have my primary partition harddrive almost stuffed full. But when i select everything on that drive and check their sizes i come up with only 30% of the harddrive full. windows tells me it's almost full about 4GB left.

And here's the kicker:
I didn't download anything yesterday. It suddenly happened when i went to bed and wanted to watch something on youtube. No connection. Same as pretty much every site.

So does anyone know what kind of messed up virus this is and could help me with that?

Sounds like a problem with your router. Have you done anything with it lately?

I don't know if it helps, but check your blacklist/forbidden connections. Browsers have such a list that blocks connection to sites and sometimes it adds sites to it for whatever reason/antivirus decides so.

If the same happens on yoiur smartphone, how could it be a virus for both devices? Seems unlikely. Restart your modem/router and give another try. Check if it's got proxy settings cont'd on it.

the ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED seems to be with the router yeah.

I did reset it and could access google for like 5 seconds before google told me "google instant is not available at the moment"

Used lycos but could find nothing on a virus that cramps full your harddrive.

Then it is most likely your ISP, it happened to me before with Google, Youtube, and the Weather channel, give it some time, it should be able to correct itself.

It doesn't sound like a virus. Router and or ISP is the culprit.

I shut down last night, sleep, got up, went to work this morning, arrived home, tried to login, connection refused.

Probably ISP more than anything

Me and 3 of my German friends are having trouble logging into POL and the game. Had horrible lags yesterday, too.

The thing is we all live 3-4 hours appart. However we all do have "Deutsche Telekom" as provider.

Same problem here in france.
It began with lags yesterday night (like AH item lists not updating, /sea all display failing etc..

Going through playonline is very slow, and I ended with pol-0006 or 0011

I just logged back in 5 minutes ago. The process through pol was still slow, but everything seems ok in game.

Im in France with Orange and had problems trying to connect only on ffxi but on both PC and xbox360. I keep getting errors 1341 or 0011 and such. Yesterday and today it started around 10pm (GMT+1) and stopped around 11:30pm. Today i even got kicked out of the game. No download, firewall is not blocking ffxi.

In France and using Orange too, couldn't log in since yesterday.

Was able to log in today using a VPN, so it seems to be definitely ISP issues.

That's the first thing I tried but no cookie.

It's not DNS related.

All we can do is wait.

Or connect another internet source like a smartphone in modem mode / Or connect though a vpn, if you have that.

I've been having similar issues, at random times, for the past 1+ month and I'm not on Orange (Using "Alice", Telecom Italia, from Italy).

When it happens it's super slow to login, talking about 15 minutes and more from the moment I click on POL to the moment I'm inside the game.
Some other times it just keeps on giving me time-out and POL errors and there's nothing I can do.

I also noticed issues within the game, AH giving "search failure" errors, likewise with /sea commands and when I'm trying to access people's bazaars.
It's just random, some other times everythings works overall smothly, but these past few months have been random hell like that.

It's interesting to notice I'm having these issues exclusively with FFXI and nothing else. Tried resetting IP, rebooting PC, changing DNS, but nothing seems to produce results which leads me to think it's probably an ISP issue.

Do Orange and Telecom Italia share some international routing maybe? That might explain why both ISPs are afflicted by these issues.
