Was searching through netflix and came across this movie. Some great actors and definitely some wut(?) moments. However as good as the movie was, or wasn't, to some; the message is right in line with the daily ramblings that go on in this here forums.

Resistance is futile?
Total destruction of a failing system is the only way to freedom?
Polar bears are our friends? (They will eat you, but for the lulz)

But the funny thing is if enough people put shoes on their heads, would they be considered hats?

"Babies taste the best" another food for thought moment.

I like how they got all indignant over being fed bugs, lol. I was totally expecting humans. I was admittedly in a strange frame of mind, but remember thinking "geez, bugs aren't bad at all. hell, I'd take one of those 'protein bars' right now!"

lmao, good stuff.

I love how in every movie like this with the last remaining survivors on earth there's still always a class division.

the ending seemed kinda pointless because everything they did just seemed to end the human race because only the one guy survived.

Because a movie where a post-apocalyptic crisis results in everyone agreeing to live peacefully, *** eachother vigorously while committing to producing perpetual drugs would send the wrong message.

Teen asian (woot) lil African (trainian??) Boy survive, part 2 Polar bear lunch.

But the overall message was one of conditioning where the "train" is the all to the point you don't even see the outside as something accessible.

The security guy/ adult asian dad, saw the big picture. The train control was not the issue, it was the limits of the train. Extreme sacrifice was needed to maintain the status quo.

Side note: the tail enders ate people, bugs is a step up imo.

The lil white boy but the black one no. Sorta to drive the whole futility point, curtis saves the lil black kid and the white one crawls out to "fix" the malfunction curtis caused.

It was my impression that the bars were made from waste and the cockroaches were just crawling in it. They kept making references to eating ***.

Decent movie. The weirdness of the cars as they kept moving forward kinda reminded me of Bioshock, as did the ending in some ways. I took the message to be commentary on faux grassroots efforts where groups are fooled into working primarily against their best interests as long as it's packaged as a "revolution". Topical, I guess. The class division stuff was pretty heavy-handed. One thing I couldn't understand from the onset - who the *** would keep Chris Evans in the back car when you could have him dance for you all greased up and sweaty or something in the front??? HE'S SO PRETTY

YES

But Tilda Swinton is always great. I really liked how that close-up shot of her hands while she was giving that monologue didn't make any sense until you saw the kid that was hidden under the floor. Nice callback.

I liked how all the cars made no sense & they kept showing outside frozen shots of the train & it was only like 10 cars long. meanwhile, there's a sushi car, & 2-3 empty cars for ninja axe fights.

funny stuff.

I think he's referring to the part where they people were going to kill and eat the baby but the guy gave them his arm or something instead. They were starving so they were turning to cannibalism.

The protein bars were insects of some sort but that came later.

They did skip out on what seemed to be any cars in the front that the people actually lived in.

Wasn't that Steam room? or something in between those two cars? I liked how all the rave people just let em all walk through and then later turned all ragey and attacked em lol.

I'd eat that.

The movie is all Alice in wonderland esq as a point, to further emphasize the ludicrous nature of the "life" of the survivors. Also I wonder if She Dictator and the dude at the front of the train were kiddie workers/parts for the train, they both kept doing the weird hand grabby thing they show the boy doing when hes a "part" for the train.

Got to have a taste for ludicrous story lines.

If you expect literal from films like these you will be sorely let down, all about the crazy in the film pointing out how crazy the reality is.
