And I'm doing the exact same thing as everybody else posting videos here but it's not working - oh well.

Edit: just noticed someone else posted that video above my post, probably while I was struggling to make it work, so it's all good :D

What you need to do is post the last bit of the url.
For example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcxKIJTb3Hg
What goes between the tags is that bunch of characters after the v=, so:
Code 
[yt]XcxKIJTb3Hg[/yt]


Turns into:
YouTube Video Placeholder
