Excuses are easy, expansion and pragmatism are hard. Or simply put, getting up and doing something about [insert issue] rather than complaining about it is hard.

I'm for talking about all of these issues, where do we start? Here in a thread about Rick Perry's indictment, naturally.

We're talking about generational poverty and the underlying issues that create ghettoization of communities. I'm sorry about your narrow vision. I know that you can't comprehend the scope of the issue, and instead focus (laser-like even) on one issue at a time.
Let's see how that works....
Your attempt to divert away from the underpinning issues is noted. Again, once you're in the poverty cycle bought and paid for by the municipality you live in, the results are predictable. House people in run down neighborhoods, with low income jobs and a structure that promotes seeing blacks as 'less than' and are you surprised when people rarely climb out? Neighborhoods are typically carved out for 'the others' either as whites flee the brown menaces or the neighborhood is municipally starved.
Look at the hire rates for college educated blacks versus whites. A white male with a record has a better shot of employment. Why? If you're black with a record (very possible if you live in a bad area) you might as well euthanize yourself. Look at the home loan rates, the type of loans given, where blacks are typically given choice to live in etc etc etc.
It doesn't matter how much work you put in. In America, if you're black not equal to your similarly situated white person. Period. If you're super rich then the rules no longer apply to you. See: Jay-Z, Oprah, Idris Elba, Dre and anyone else typically used in a strawman.

Or because they have almost no social mobility. Good excuse.
Explain how people with no social mobility become rich again?
Or right, in your view of reality, they don't.
That's an oxymoron, most rich people inherited most or all of their wealth. Sure, whatever you say.
Then again, your comment would be something I would expect from somebody who knows about as much business as a McDonald's manager. The top 20% is quite different from the top 10%, 5%, 1%, or 0.1%. Considering how asymptotic the upper end of the curve is, it may be somewhat disingenuous to make a statement about averages of the top 20%. Arguably, there is no asymptotic behavior on the bottom 20% (unless negative income is defined somehow, which seems unlikely). Which is one of the reasons why access to the raw data is so very important.
It also describes households, not individuals.
But this gets into the definition of what is rich (or upper class), versus affluent. So for the statement to be describing the rich accurately, it would need to be looking somewhere at the top 1%.

Calling people lazy because they are not successful is just ignorance. That's not why they are lazy. Demanding that they get more money for less work than they already do, even though they already do minimum wage work, and not do anything to improve themselves, that's lazy.
I'm sorry, but anyone demanding $15/hr for flipping burgers is doing nothing but being counterproductive to society. Why?
And how is someone demanding $30/hr for doing tax returns any more productive to society than someone flipping burgers?

Depending on the area, and keeping consistent with inflation, nothing wrong with $15/hour for flipping a burger.
Hell I'm tempted to say regardless of the area.
It's funny they go on and on about people not wanting to work, yet when people work some of the shittiest jobs/schedules out there, they want them to also not make anything. How does it feel to speak rhetoric that is literally keeping the poor poor?

White privilege is a myth at best. People are 'racist' against anybody when and if it suits their needs, it just so happens blacks are an easy target because they generally live in poorer communities (aside for slavery). Poor communities all share the same traits. Just because a place is poor doesn't mean they're mostly black and just because a community is mostly black doesn't mean they're poor. But statistically the current layout places a majority of poorer communities as mostly black.
White guilt, as described by Martin Luther King Jr., is a real thing. And it comes from everybody, whether it be a black community blaming the white man, or the liberal elite pushing PC to extremes and everything else in between.
Racism on the other hand stems from poor communities looking for someone to blame, to rich people looking for a cause to make themselves feel better or deflect a situation they may have caused by gaining wealth. Generally people will tend to get along if they are content in their current situation in life.
Have Vs Have not, be content where you are in life, or do something to make it better.

If you wish to prevent any individual person possessing biological, chemical, or nuclear weapons, ICBMs, rocket launchers, tanks, mortars, artillery, etc. then you are violating their absolute right to bear arms.
Most rational people recognize that there should be some limits on what arms individuals are allowed to possess.
If you agree that some are allowed to be prevented, then all you are doing is trying to define the scope of encroachment on the right to bear arms.
But they're not equivocal, nuclear weapons and chemical weapons both contain items that are banned by their inherit danger in themselves, regardless of being weaponized.
However the rest of that list should be allowed, 100% and the fact that they try to limit it is a direct violation of the 2nd amendment. Biological weapons should be allowed? And chemical weapons also includes tear gas and pepper spray. As for uranium, to the best of my knowledge it is regulated, not banned.

It's regulated to the point of you're not allowed to enrich yellow cake, even for power, but I'm fine with somebody having the rest of the rocket.

This gets back to the simple fact that relevance or benefit to society has little bearing whatsoever on prevailing wages.

But why prevent someone from having any of the armaments that the government can have?
After all, you have the right to bear arms. Any armaments, no?
Grand Jury indicts Rick Perry
Quote: (CNN) -- A grand jury has indicted Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, saying he abused his power by trying to pressure a district attorney to resign.
The two felony counts against Perry, a Republican, stem from his threat to veto funding for a statewide public integrity unit run by Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg unless she stepped down, the special prosecutor in the case, Michael McCrum, said.
Perry attorney David L. Botsford called the indictment a "political abuse of the court system." He said the action "violated the separation of powers" and "sets a dangerous precedent by allowing a grand jury to punish the exercise of a lawful and constitutional authority afforded to the Texas governor."
CNN affiliate KVUE reported that Perry will have to report to the Travis County Jail in the capital of Austin to be booked, fingerprinted and have his photo made for a mugshot.
Perry can continue to serve as governor while under indictment, KVUE reported. His attorneys could seek to have the charges thrown out, a motion that would delay the case, at the very least.
The grand jury in Travis County indicted the governor on charges of coercion of a public servant and abuse of his official capacity.
I actually didn't believe the headline when I first saw it, but its on every website, even the beloved Fox News. So this is real, its not some doomed publicity stunt *looking at you and your little lawsuit Boehner*
The failed Presidential candidate and pathetic governor of Texas is facing two felony counts of abusing power and coercion. He is going to be arrested, booked, fingerprinted, and a mugshot taken. Can't wait to see that.
Apparently he thought he could use his power to pressure an attorney to resign. I'm not surprised that he would attempt something like that due to his huge ego and lack of intellect, and living in Illinois, used to seeing governors go to jail. He is facing 99 years if convicted.
