But really; "mentally stable" girls nag you to paint the windows this new shade of blue that matches the perennials she put in last winter. They want you to stop buying Nerf weapons because they're for children. They want you to pay $50,000 for a wedding that's not even fun for anyone to attend. They want to have babies and families and stop having sex on a regular basis.

Seriously. Don't go for full psychosis or severe personality disorders, but slightly broken people are far, far more fun than the straight-laced ones can ever dream of being.

Or maybe I just went for someone just like me. Who knows?

I'm rarely described as anything but straight-laced, so I married a woman with a little spice. She keeps me from being a robot, but we definitely have a Dharma and Greg thing going on.

My wife and I are pretty much as alike as you can get, and it's mostly just become more so after 16 years. I can't imagine being with someone my opposite. I don't get it.

Why would you want a spouse who doesn't want to play games with you? Or who wants to decorate the house when you're trying to watch a hockey or football game? Why would you want a spouse you can't hold an intelligent discussion with you about topics in which you're mutually interested?

Sex is great, yeah. Good looks are great, yeah. But...if that's all you've got between you is physical attraction, that seems really *** lame. I don't get it.

Me and my wife are polar opposites in just about every way, but I can't imagine being with someone like me. I like that she forces me to do things I wouldn't do on my own accord. It's most definitely trying, life would be much quieter if I'd married someone more like me, though.

This thread needs some global warming debate.

Let's see how well the CAGW hypothesis is doing:
1) No global warming trend for 18 years
2) Falling global temp trends for 14 yrs
3) Next month, th Antarctic will break the largest ice extent ever recorded.
4) The Arctic sea ice is recovering in volume and size.
5) IPCC's AR5 report released last year admits no increase in global severe weather in 50~100 yrs.
6) US sets record for the longest time without a CAT3 making US landfall in 150 years (3,200 days).
7) Sea rise rate fell 30% over last 10 yrs.
8) Sea Level Rise stuck at 6" per century

I'm pretty sure a lot of people would say we have an unhealthy marriage and that we're co-codependant or something. I don't really give a ***, because I'll take that to the "healthy relationships" I hear about all the time.

They're so healthy I come to work and listen to people complain about their spouses constantly.

why its necessary to shoot someone 6 times:
He's 6'4" 292 lbs. That's a really huge person. People become super human when adrenaline kicks in.

I really hope they do a toxicology on the guy and find some hardcore drugs in his system.

Why do you hope that they find hardcore drugs in his system? To perpetuate some kind of stereotype or maybe to justify the actions of the officer? Why would anyone hope that a young person's memory is even further tarnished?

Because I find it sickening that the media and groups always try to put things into a race hate crime. I bet the that city wouldn't give two shits if it was the same scenario but a black officer killed him. Meanwhile there's been like what? 1200+ shootings in chicago this year and there's hardly any media coverage? like wtf. Why does 1 cop killing a person incite an entire riot with looting and burning buildings in addition to the "peaceful" protesters shooting and throwing incendiary devices at their local law enforcement, the very same people who sign up to serve and protect the community they're destroying?

That inconsistency is a product of the American public's appetite. News outlets show what people want to see, and they drum up controversy and outrage to increase viewership. You can have your beef with the media without wishing further pain and injury on a broken family and the memory of their dead child. You are a truly twisted person.

Do you think that if it is found that he was on some kind of hardcore drugs, that the media wouldn't report it? PUH-LEASE, that's the kind of juicy stuff the corporate media thrives on.

Its racist to assume that a black person is high on marijuana, not because they don't use it, but because they use it at almost exactly the same rate as whites do. Do you assume that a white person is high on marijuana? No? That's the racist part.

Whenever the police take a person's life, answers are warranted. Your pathetic attempt to use "Ebonics" to invalidate their want is the mark of a weak mind. It's obvious you think all the fault lies with the teen and the community, why not express that instead of drooling and spewing incoherent race-baiting ***?

Don't you think that the parents of the dead son isn't demanding, or condoning the media attention?

You know that you have the right to refuse the media from making a fiasco out of a tragedy of the death of a family member? The parents could threaten to sue AP for making a spectacle out of their son's death, but instead, they are loving it. They are going out of their way to throw their own "pity party" while they have their 5 minutes of fame.

Or are you going to tell us all that they aren't on the front page of most news outlets today?

Why would anyone hope that a young person's memory is even further tarnished?
Why would anyone want to get further from the truth?

If the kid was doing hardcore drugs and was intoxicated/inebriated at the time of his death, how is learning that tarnish his memory at all, since it is obvious that is what he does up to his death.

The truth is a different thing than HOPING they find hardcore drugs in his system. If he wasn't in a normal state of mind for any reason, it's tragic, if it was from drugs, then so be it, but why would you HOPE that he was on drugs? It's a really sick way of viewing the death of a teenager.
How about hoping that it is reported and publicized?

Or is that still bad?

Do you think that if it is found that he was on some kind of hardcore drugs, that the media wouldn't report it? PUH-LEASE, that's the kind of juicy stuff the corporate media thrives on.
They get more viewership from the race-baiting they are currently running on.

They may report it 6 months from now.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people would say we have an unhealthy marriage and that we're co-codependant or something. I don't really give a ***, because I'll take that to the "healthy relationships" I hear about all the time.

They're so healthy I come to work and listen to people complain about their spouses constantly.
I really hate to jump in here but "nagging" women aren't in the "mentally stable" category. They're passive aggressive control freaks.

Did I say nagging somewhere? Nagging is a problem all of its own. And likely has contributing factors by both parties, indicative that they mutually selected the wrong partners.
Yes, you did.

News outlets show what people want to see, and they drum up controversy and outrage to increase viewership.
Then stop demanding sensationalism. It is as simple as that.

You can have your beef with the media without wishing further pain and injury on a broken family and the memory of their dead child.

Classic deflection... The nature of media or a person's relationship to it has nothing to do with a sick individual HOPING dishonor on a dead teenager. I dislike the media and their tactics as much as I despise the people who willingly become the center of media sensationalism without shame.
