What if most women don't join those professions, because there's not as many nefarious, grizzly, unkempt hoards of strawman feminists roaming the streets looking for an unsuspecting male to prey on like a pack of hyenas as you would like to think?

Astounding!
So let's ask the real question then.

What jobs are out there that women would like to work in but can't? And why they can't.

Lumberjack !

Nope.

When did the fight become about how many women are in certain fields?

I always thought the argument was that people in the same field are getting paid less others in the same field.

Take for example person a(man) and person b (woman) hired for an entry level job at the same time doing the same exact work and each person a is offered more money than person b.

Personally I think the whole argument is BS anyways because an employer should be able to pay their employees whatever they feel they are worth. One of my old managers made more money than the director of the department. I was always curious as to how that happened lol but yea... I think it's a bad business practice to underpay valuable employees and the only places it tends to work are with people that don't have or don't think they have many or any other options.

If someone is doing the same job at the same level though and you find out the only reason the other person makes less is because the person is their gender then there's most likely someone who's going to take issue with that and who can blame em.

Well, there's that.

Douchbags are another occupation that's male driven. I have yet to meet a female douchbag. They are generally just ***.

It's not a matter of not being allowed. It's a matter of being indoctrinated from an extremely young age that those jobs "aren't for women", the unwanted sexual attention and sexist *** from the overwhelming amounts men filling the positions in those fields.

That, and who actually WANTS to work waste disposal jobs?

Pretty sure there are military positions women still aren't allowed to hold.

For instance, I'm nearly positive women still aren't allowed to be assigned to submarine service.

You are making the assumption that this is true for all cases.

It is not. You know why?

It's called the art of negotiation. You can have Person Y (a male) and Person Z (another male) who are hired for the same position with the same qualifications and still have different pay structures.

Person S (a female) and Person T (a male) also would have different pay structures where Person S is benefiting more.

You are making the false assumption that every single female in the world is being paid less than their male counterparts. Where you have no idea how much anyone is really being paid unless you have access to their contracts and/or paychecks.

So, stop being an idiot about your perception of the world.

That's the military's prerogative.

I think the general consensus is private sector jobs (or public non-military jobs).

Depends if she regrets it in the morning or if anyone else knows about it. Im either case, would you get into a car that worked perfectly well 99% of the time but 1% it would explode and instantly kill you?

Of course, there is a thing called acceptable risk. If you're loathe to accept risks, kindly take the other available routes to get laid all which contain their own risk assessments.

Either way, more pressing risks are readily apparent like ex-boyfriends, STDs and pregnancy. All of which are more likely than a rape claim. Paranoia is a thing and it's out in force in this thread.

Quote:
That is what it's like for college folks at a liberal university. Girl could be giving you all the signals, kissing on you, petting and what not. You both end up in the sack and the next morning she feels like a *** because she just met you. Or worse her friends find out and it negatively effects her social credit. Now we will ALWAYS blame the guy for when a girl cries. It's just human nature to always assume guys are responsible for everything, and thus we have created a legal presumption of guilt.

From this thread alone we've had guys make the claim they can't control their penises or the rapey urges that emanate from a hard on so that tube top is an invitation to get all creeptastic. That is the source of why men are presumed to be rapists rather than looking objectively at the evidence. Forgive me for holding the male to a higher standard but I like to think I'm better than that - maybe the rest of the gender not so much.

Also, the liberal bit is just wordbaiting. You think things are different on a conservative campus? Maybe more closet gay sex between holier than thou men or creative arrangements where I marry your GF to bone then hand her back but we're talking college students here - largely uneducated, inexperienced mates feeding off what the media tells them to do. And that's to *** by force if you have to. I mean what else do manly alphas do?

Because of the misconception that the job is somehow "beneath" you. If you're making 80k/year hauling trash, thats a respectable position and damn better than the 20something dressing up in a suit and tie to man a Chase kiosk for 28k/yr.

What do kids know? Astronauts and doctors are lofty but ultimately just the stock pool of jobs parents want to hear. How many kids say they want to be petrol engineers, pet therapists or interior decorators? Mom, I want to handle complex derivatives!

I did read your post. Your whole post was insinuating that a man always gets paid more than a woman and that it should be fair. Your entire argument is based on a biased conjecture on what you think is real.

I will admit that women as a whole are paid less than men as a whole but there are many other factors associated with that than just base pay. Like pregnancies and child care costs.

As for your "I never made any assumption that every woman is being paid less than their male counterpart. Please show me where I did" comment, you apparently cannot read what I quoted. Your one and only example about what you think is happening with the world, along with your lack of disclaimer stating that this example is only in one case shows that.

If you want people to think that you are saying something, then make sure you actually say it.

I can read what you quoted and appearantly you just can't read lol... like I explained again in the following post the comment was to clarify what the actual argument is not to say that all women are paid less and hence partly why I claimed the whole argument to be BS in the first place.

My one and only example? They're both women lol... It wasn't an example of the manager making more than a director because the manager was a man it was to show that pay structures can differ. The example wouldn't even make sense because they aren't counterparts as one is clearly on top of the other...

I never said it should be fair either. At best I said I could understand that if someone found out that their gender was the only reason they were being paid less that I couldn't blame em for being upset.

Another swing and a miss from you King.

The uneducated types of guys who regularly perform garbage pickup duty aren't really the kind brimming with...well, the ability to even consider things like respect for women.

Incoming anecdote!

I worked with a guy whose daughter was an intern for a Waste Management office in Detroit. One of her duties was helping to oversee proper work attire for the garbage pickup crews. She had to go with them to buy boots because these guys couldn't manage to buy the correct boots in the correct size on their own recognizance.

I'd love to say it's just dumb guys being dumb uneducated guys but take a look at the tech field and silicon valley full of our most bright, arrogant punks and you'll see the same problem, different flavor.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing or trying to say otherwise.

I'm just saying in the particular case of the garbage industry, the rank-and-file garbage truck drivers/pickup personnel are frequently not the brightest bulbs in the box, and expecting them to even suss a concept of gender equality might be asking a lot.

If she works with creeps, their actions would generally stop fast.

If she works for creeps, it would take a long time (and more likely a lawsuit) before the actions change.
