There are four categories of jobs right now: fighter, sorcerer, crafter and gatherer. Two jobs have been unveiled for each.

Fighter: swordsman, archer
Sorcerer: enchanter, warlock
Crafter: blacksmith, cook
Gatherer: gardener, fisherman

Armoury, guild levels, aetheryte(?), story, cities, races. explains about the leveling system and all sorts.

It might just be me, but the whole categories and subcategories of job classes seems abit primitive. Perhaps that's what SE is aiming for, but frankly I liked just having a big selection of various jobs with a span of various purposes.

looks like laaaarge areas to me ..... i love it. Look at the horizon .. LOOK AT IT!!! :D

Well I think there will be more jobs in each class, probably something more like this:

Fighter: swordsman, archer, paladin, berserker, dragoon, samurai, gladiator (just saw that on the page)
Sorcerer: enchanter, warlock, healer, summoner, thaumaturge (go go ninja edits as I read the new info <_<)
Crafter: blacksmith, cook, clothcrafter, woodworker etc. etc.
Gatherer: gardener, fisherman , harvester, lumberjack, miner

Like, it just seems that it's just fighter and sorcerer classes that are actually used for fighting, so all your jobs as we know them now will be in there, and all the crafts and HELM (they'll probably expand on HELM somehow) will be in the other two classes.

But the fact that they have crafting and HELM as classes along side what are obviously combat jobs is very interesting, very strongly suggests that it's going to be an entirely different system from what we know now (aside from just the fact that it's more of an AP system than an exp system).

Can't wait to see how it will all work.

That Mithra is hot, totally rip it out.

Looks absolutely fantastic though, I have been apprehensive about XIV for a while now, but looking at those landscapes, they really are *** lush!

Will really need to get myself a PS3 in the near future, get it settled and ready until I can afford to pimp the hell out of my PC.

Limsa Lominsa reminds me of Stormalong Harbor. :D Gridania is a marked improvement over Windy and looks awesome, but Ul'dah still looks the most impressive to me. Dunno about this "middle of the desert" thing, though.

Elvaan, Archer, Gridania, just to go w/ the whole elvaan archer in the woods theme, (Limsa Lominsa is the one i really want).

And I am officially back! No more WoW or Runes of Magic after this I think. The beta has been so much fun. I loved all the different opening cutscenes for each nation and the new mithra isn't so slutty so I think I'll be playing one this time lol.
