I got this message after I tried to log back in. I don't have any emails from them and I was just online a few minutes ago. What does this mean???

The explanation there is pretty clear. SE thinks your account is/was at risk of maybe being hacked or something. I got it the other day trying to login into XIV for the first time.

Go to the website it refers you to and reset your password.

I've received it as well as my wife. I believe it's one of two things:

1. SE's way of forcing people to change login password if the've not done so for a while (I had the same one for three years)

or

2. With more accounts through SE due to FFXIV there's problems with people being hacked because, let's face it, Sony (PS3/4) hasn't been the most trusted with keeping their customer's information secured.

Just my guesses, but there's probably another reason. Either way, choose a new login password and be done with it. my new one has lasted me six months so far.

ok, now it's asking me for my one-time password. I don't have one of those anymore. How do I bypass that step? Any suggestions?

You will have to call SE and have them un-attach it from your account. I had to do that when I lost mine moving.

Only way to remove a one time password is during commercial time access the support site and request to receive support via chat. They have a special link you click to perform a request related to lost or broken one time password device.

They will ask you some personal information about you (usual personal information like name, address, etc) and the account information (usually they ask you to type one of the disk keys you used to register the game so have the game manual handy) before disabling your one time password device.

Just for fun and reference, this is a great site to test potential passwords on. Of course, never enter your real password in anything that you aren't sure about. Most passwords are stolen by keylogging, but it's pretty interesting to see the computer's calculated time until your password can be cracked by going through all the possible combinations.

How secure is my password?

@The OP may be a good idea to run a security check on your system and use the virtual keyboard until you're sure you don't have a keylogger.

I also recommend the online chat over a phone call (seriously, what is it? 1992?) but do it on a clean computer.

I had fun spamming random keys and seeing words for numbers I never knew.

apparently he has a list of the top 10,000 most used passwords:

Quote:
password, 32027
123456, 25969
12345678, 8667
1234, 5786
qwerty, 5455
12345, 4523
dragon, 4321
pussy, 3945
baseball, 3739
football, 3682
letmein, 3536
monkey, 3487
696969, 3345
abc123, 3310
mustang, 3289
michael, 3249
shadow, 3209
master, 3182
jennifer, 2581
111111, 2570
2000, 2550
jordan, 2538
superman, 2523
harley, 2485
1234567, 2479

quick sample... and frequency.

I just find it funny that baseball>football

and dragon>pussy (I'm sure there's a Seha joke here somewhere).

oh definitely, I'm gonna use my desktop to chat with them, not the laptop. I'm running a virus scan on it now. I've also been getting blue screens lately, like 3 in the last 2 weeks. I think the laptop needs a complete overhaul :(

To remove your one-time password:

Birthday:
Name:
Address:

All it takes to remove it, just gotta hope you didn't use a fake birthday as I did.

Apparently there is an emergency removal password but you have to be logged-in to access it, so you should have written it down. Again, something I didn't do.
