Something I've been looking around at for a while now is some sort of online point tracking system. While we have a system that is working for us I'm just wondering if there's a way to streamline our process through an online solution.

This is not looking for feedback on how we calculate points or reward items.

If there's nothing out there yes I will probably end up working on it myself.

Excel's not very convenient if multiple people need to update it though.

If multiple people need to keep records for some reason, two sets should be kept and then matched up periodically to spot errors or inconsistency.

A website with a decent FTP setup can allow people to edit pages as well.

I was having a look at that yesterday Aly, just a matter of converting what we have to google spreadsheets. The only thing I did find was it's a bit slow to work with because it's browser based.

Our current solution is excel and it does work very well. We have it uploaded so all admins can access it then do points, then re-upload new version. While it works I guess I'm just trying to do something easier.

I have it all in my head, I just need to map it out properly I guess, or just leave things as is. I'm not unhappy, just looking for improvements.

But then you don't get real time updates to things, not to mention you actually have to coordinate with people.

Same with FTP, just too much manual stuff. Maybe I'm just too much of a lazy geek, but I'd rather write a good page to make things simpler.

Yea we have the google spreadsheets even set up to enter your name and what your change of choices are for einherjar pieces. So the person ends up making the change on the spreadsheets. It's pretty neat how we have it set up but I hope you find something :)

I found this maybe it can help some.

I used the same thing when I was point-tracking for my last LS. The nice part it even on a BBcode forum you can setup custom bbcode to embed the spreadsheet to get around html lockdown which makes it a nice, easy solution. Basic, but easy.

A few shells on Seraph use FFDKP for their points tracking which seems relatively straight-forward. D:

Good system but I won't use the functionality of it for the price he asked. Well worth it I'm sure if you're going to use the full system but for my linkshell it's like buying a BigMac meal and only eating the chips.

Ever heard about Sharepoint ? :< Saying Excel is not convenient when multiple people need to update/access a file is meh. More like that Excel+Sharepoint is way too powerful for a thing such as DKP management. Would be like using a rocket launcher to kill a bee kinda :d (also both MS Excel and Sharepoint hosting are expensive :d)

Small LS better just stick to Google Spreadsheet. eqDKP is also nice, my former sky LS used that one.

Actually I use Sharepoint and I'm not particularly fond of it. The whole checkout/checkin process annoys the crap out of me and does not strike me as being very convenient for the type of updating you need to do for points.

The fact that there are expensive systems just to try and make excel easier to use for multiple people should say something about how bad it is natively.
