Dude a ton of ws got a HUGE boost, stop *** complaining. I reiterate, you're dumb.
I don't see a complaint sir but if your gonna troll then expect a response don't get sour bruh. I'm just curious to know which of those "magic ws's" you're gonna use endgame?
Leaden Salute with Death Penalty might actually be good now.
Yeah it wasn't to bad prior to now but weapons like that and aton certainly should benifit.

Yea some of the changes don't make sense. Like some of the WS get a TP bonus at 1000 TP which we are/were thinking is = to 100% TP. Why would a WS get an added boost at the base amount needed to use it? A lot of things are up in the air at this point for WSs.

Whatever bonus the WS gets from TP(be it increased damage ((FTP)), increased crit chance, ignores defense, etc will be increased at those TP cutoff points. For example piercing shot is getting TP bonus at 1000 and 3000. This means at 1000TP it will get more ignored defense than it originally did at 100% TP and 3000. Most melee ws got a tp bonus at 2000 which means they probably got a fTP bonus at 2000 which is larger than whatever ftp they got at 200% before. Wheeling thrust got a tp bonus at 3000%. For example prior, at 300% wheeling ignored 50% def. now at 3000% it may ignore 66%. Get it? Whatever bonus the ws had will be enhanced at those tp values listed on their table.

Finally Starburst and Sunburst will do some dmg.

Also, maybe I'm reading something wrong, but how do you get 2,000 TP? I thought 300 was the max?

We've always operated off a 0 - 3000 TP system even if we could only see 0-300, but they're changing the UI to reflect that extra decimal place with the update.

I wonder if they changed the modifiers for merit WS. A STR-modded Entropy would be a solid step toward making non-REM scythes competitive again.

Cata is going to 40/40 STR/INT along with Quietus going to 60/60 STR/MND. CR gonna be 60/60 STR/MND with Guilly being buffed to 30/60 STR/MND. Scourge is being changed to STR/VIT which is f*cking amazing along with other WS's being buffed out.

I also notice that Jinpu went down from 40% STR mod to 30% STR mod. I hope that item level boost is decent.

Jinpu is 30% STR right now too:

I wrote a guide on how to interpret the post here:

Boosts are awesome. This works out to a pretty substantial increase in dagger WS damage, at least.

Aha, my mistake there then. I use the ffxiclopedia for old content information and it said Jinpu was 40%.

That is just lovely… the existing modifiers always puzzled me. I can just imagine a meeting at the SE development team’s think tank to go like:

“And now onto the Great Sword relic, guys… Since this is a 2-hand front-line heavy armor DD weapon I’m thinking we should go with CHR and MND as its WS modifier, what do you think?”

“CHR and MND is the obvious choice here, yes.”

“Ok, done…”

SAM getting more buffs every damn patch

You are a drk or war arent you.

I'm a generalist. I play SAM at the moment because they need one for my static group. I'm not saying it as a bad thing. I just think it's funny.

They probably thought the ws were strong (3.0 is pretty meaty at 75) so they probably "baranced it" by making them modifiers that the job didn't really excel in. Like Chr for scourge, or agi for Geirskogul or str for mercy stroke. Though doesn't explain why metatron and Kaiten got str...

Something I don't think anyone has touched on yet is how this will benefit fellowship npcs and trusts. I'm so tired of my npc using Goten and Kagero for trash damage. It seems like now any random weapon skill Fhig (my fellow npc) chooses will be benefited. I just hope SE applies these bonuses to the weaponskills when used by npcs.

For the occasions where abyssea is still relevant, this will also make it easier for jobs with formally horrible elemental weapon skills to build amber lights.

So, which WS's you think they are gonna *** up the calculations on and have them doing 15-20k damage 1st day of the update, forcing an emergency maintenance? lol

I think that's more an issue of the now infamous MAcc bug, rather then an underpowered WS.

I hope they did something more behind the scenes for Ninja or katana WS because it sure looks like they hardly bothered. A boost to the DEX mod of Metsu is a bit of an insult when they appear to have added bonus effects to virtually every H2H WS (because Monk is so under-utilized and low-powered, right?).

If I read it correctly it looks like Blade: Ku and Blade: Kamu wont be as shitty as they have been. I wonder if they will fix the randomness of Blade: Hi.

For Katana:
Blade: Kamu, which has a 1.3x attack multiplier, is getting a new fTP and another 10% to each of its mods. That might not be bad.

Blade: Hi is getting another 20% AGI mod

Blade: Jin is getting a critical hit rate boost at all TP levels.

Blade: Ku is getting a 20% STR and DEX mod increase, which is substantial because it's a 5-hit WS with low base damage.

Blade: Shun is getting more attack for TP over 100.

Blade: Yu will be a respectable magic WS, probably.

So yeah, Ninja is getting stuff. The magnitude of the buffs (and other change from the same patch) will determine whether they help the job or not. Overall, though, they have tossed it more than a few bones.

As far as stuff relevant to me, bow ranger is getting a decent boost, since Jishnu's is picking up another 20% DEX mod. Samurai will benefit a little during Fudo spam, with the additional 20% strength mod. Oh, and as a mythic samurai, the extra 15% STR mod on Rana is definitely welcome!

Puppetmaster gets a boost with Stringing Pummel attack increase (this is fTP bonus?), though Victory Smite gets a higher STR mod so it remains to be seen where that will land.

Threw the data into the spreadsheet for mnk to take a look at things.

Rough scaling of Mnk weaponskills (some improvements are guesstimated):

112 == New Victory Smite
104 == New Ascetic's Fury w/Glanzfaust (no AM3)
101 == 5/5 Shijin Spiral
>100 == Current Victory Smite
93 == 1/5 Shijin Spiral
86 == New Asuran Fists
80 == New Ascetic's Fury
79 == New Final Heaven w/Spharai
67 == New Dragon Kick

Relative ranking might be slightly skewed in favor of weaponskills with dex mods, since I had Tinhaspa as the weapon when I ran the sets. Not going to redo it for that small change, though.

Overall, Smite retakes a notable lead. Ascetic's with Glanzfaust is a bit ahead of Shijin. Shijin goes from 'on par' with the best weaponskill to 'also ran'. Everything else continues to trail behind. Final Heaven is still a joke.

Will poke as some of the other weapons in a bit.

Bumped it from 1.0 to 2.0. For crit rates, added 10% to the 200 TP anchor, having it scale 10% > 30% > 50% instead of 10% > 20% > 40%.
