Breast Feeding

If breastfeeding in public was the most offensive thing I've seen I would be happy.

I'm very confused as to why asking Delta for their policy in writing is a terrible thing.
Delta has a written policy available (from previous flying experience) for flying with animals in the cabin and pregnant women. Not sure why this is any different.

I don't think it was about asking for a written policy, it was the fact that she got told the wrong answer and wanted a written copy to disprove them.
If I ever have to take my cat on a flight (possibly never), all I would have to do is say his name is Bruce Wayne and he's batman and we'd get first class seating.
...at least I can dream.

What about the short lived Hooters airline ?

This whole topic is a non-issue. I agree. The problem is that if we only discussed issues on this forum, or bandied about facts without personal experiences, and opinions we wouldn't have a forum, lol. I live a relatively introverted, but accepting, quiet life. I will probably never encounter 99% of the ***we debate on this forum. You implied that bitching isn't going to help etc etc but this forum is like 10% game related math, 10% showing people what gear their dumb *** should be able to figure out themselves, and 80% bitching about random topics. No one is curing cancer at ffxiah (or changing laws/quality of life). This is what you got from all this? /bursts out laughing

I actually flew with my cat in the cabin from ATL to CPH. He was awesome and slept the whole way without drugs.

I just like to talk to be honest. If I weren't talking in 3-4 pms on GW half the time I'd be making some of these type threads. It's pretty tedious working in sales. I don't have an awful lot to do for a long time and then suddenly I have everything to do.
That and ffxiah is a savior for being on the phone with a customer who won't shut up.

And the Twitter post she made was directed to Delta Assist, which is designed for customer service inquiries. I don't think it was about attention-whoring the issue if that's the implication there.

I think my cat would be fine, we take him to the vet all the time without a carrier and he just sits in our arms, waiting patiently.
All the vet workers love him though, every time we go to see them with him they all scream out "IT'S BRUCE WAYNE!"
Such a playboy that cat.

I think if she wanted to be discreet about it, she would have just looked on the website or called for a copy of their rules and regulations, instead of putting it out on a social media tool for millions to see.
Just my thoughts.

I really do wish that Americans and various other cultures would get over the fact that *** exist.
The whole "have a little common courtesy" argument is born from a very different place than it claims to be. Only women trying to make a protest are going to hook the little parasite up to their udders while checking out at the grocery store or jogging on a treadmill at the gym. Sane women who don't have the time or energy will find a place to sit out of the way*. The reality of the "common courtesy" argument is that people think breasts are sexual.
Since this isn't commonly known, even among people who study psychology, here's a quick newsflash:
Attraction to breasts is a fetish.
Saying a woman should cover up her *** is pandering to some people's fetish as much as a law or custom demanding covered feet, knees, or faces. Mommy zeppelins are not sex organs, ergo, find them sexually attractive is a fetishistic deviation. More to the point, it's a deviation that is promoted by our ridiculous insistence that women keep 'em holstered. Now, I'd no more expect to see a topless woman behind the counter at Taco Bell than I would expect a topless man, but the only good reason a woman should keep a shirt on in her day-to-day is that the damned things are quite mobile and, like a man's genitals, benefit from being encased in a layer of cotton, at least if you're doing anything active.
I don't like the sight of women's breasts. They do nothing for me aesthetically and I'm not a breast fetishist (for lots of obvious reasons). I'd just as soon they stay out of sight. But I have similar opinions about lots of other things, like most forms of body hair (another fetishized secondary sexual characteristic). I'm hardly prepared to start a protest to ban Mediterranean men from wearing tank tops, although I'll bet I could get a pile of signatures if I did. Why treat an engorged modified sweat gland with so much drama?
* I have heard of a few lunatic women who have no sense of boundaries basically just squatting in the middle of the toy aisle at Wal-Mart to feed their spawn. There's always a few exceptions to our consensus version of sanity.

In the article it states that a written policy is not posted on breastfeeding. I think Delta needs to clear that up.

Still stand by calling/contacting a business privately instead of using Twitter/social media sites.

On paper, i would agree with you. I'm definitely reading between the lines here.
I'm making the wild assumption that some with the tag "classichippie" randomly thought of this a month before their flight. They then decided to ask customer service on the massively public forum that is twitter (instead of emailing or calling customer service like people normally do. She got an answer and then within moments asks for their written policy on the matter.
I just think it was pre-meditated. I also would like to point out that I thought that before I actually looked at her twitter (which makes me more comfortable with that opinion).
She sure is loving all that attention and soapboxing. She would have made a great "pour-coffee-in-my-crotch" advocate in the 90s.

They just need to start giving away Jerry beads everywhere and be done with it.
Some people with the amount of clothing they wear would qualify without having to take anything off.

Ahhh...I see where you're coming from now. I noticed the "classichippie" tag, but didn't look too deeply into the implication of her using twitter rather than e-mail.
I thought it might be incited from the lady in the second article that sued when booted from the plane for refusing to use a blanket. Hmmm...

Even if she did to it with the intent of making it public, so what? She pointed out an inconsistency in their policy and the airline decided to be more forthcoming on its policies. She didn't get on the plane and make a stink, didn't get litigious as far as we know, and wasn't rude based on what was released.

She did. Her twitter has rants on how shitty the flight was and she tried to get back on the soapbox about being indignant pregnant women have to be in security lines.

I dissagree that her intention was to stand up for herself, or that she had anything to stand up against. They didn't even tell her she couldn't, just to try a blanket etc. The person in charge of the twitter feed probably just FAQ'ed the answer from a database. It could have said "offer customer a blanket as courtesy" and was misinterpreted. Now there's people on her wall screaming about the "indignity of these *** at Delta".
Let's be honest, the poor *** was probably making min wage to phone jockey customer service. Now their response is being broadcast like it's the social agenda of Delta airlines to take women's suffrage.
Anyhoo, when this is all over and this ladies 15 mins of fame is over. Let's hope that poor twitter *** still has a job. I'd just hate to see them missing meals because "yes you can but please try to cover up" vs "yes you can" is this woman's passion of the christ.
*edit*
I giggled at the guy who was like "you can not cover your boobs when i can whip my *** out".
I said it here expecting it to be taken semi-lightly (and because im poor with making simile without gross exaggeration). This guy is doing it on twitter then saying "tune in for my live show tonight where i bash this ho". classy.
