This is news? She asked, they gave an immediate response, she pressed, they actually checked the manual, changed their reply, and admitted fault. Seems fairly cut-and-dried.
Honestly, speaking for myself, I don't see why people even have to ask. The unpleasant and somewhat nauseating aspect of breastfeeding is not that someone's overlarge *** are slightly exposed. It's that horrible suckling noise that babies make that I wish could be covered up. Since it can't be, and wrapping the kid in a blanket does not meaningfully change it, who cares?
Maybe I'm just more audio-sensitive, though. I want to strangle little kids who haven't grasped the concept of closing their damned mouths while chewing because of the disgusting noises that result.

Wait until some hippie mothers get into this thread.
Frankly, I don't give a damn about the whole topic, but some people get REALLY into it and REALLY upset about it.
Breastfeeding -- I found out through innocently asking, "who cares?" once -- is a HUUUUGEE issue to some people.

Cut and dry. The incident they cited at the end of the article though...
Quote: But breastfeeding on planes is a murkier area. A woman sued three airlines after she was kicked off a flight in 2006 because she wouldn't cover herself with a blanket while nursing. She reached a settlement in 2012.
...made me roll my eyes. I'd kind of like to know the details of that. LOL!

I LOVE breasts. You'll rarely find me making a case against them.
However, the process of breastfeeding (while probably beautiful to the mother) is an obnoxious amount of racket and not particularly something that's enjoyable to see. As a connoisseur of breast: a lactating pregnant breast is very near the bottom of my list.
Is the baby going to starve in the 5 mins before you can get to somewhere more private??

If i get inebriated, I know i can't operate a moving vehicle.
My parents got a babysitter to go to dinner. This chick is so entitled she can't be *** to throw a blanket over her shoulder? If she can't get her baby to feed with a cover, or from a bottle: i cannot WAIT will she has to break the baby of the "come get me at 2 am" phase
or thumb sucking
or potty training
f this b in her stupid ear.
I'm gonna start auto-felating in public. It's only nature, right? I'd cover-up, or just jack off, but my bits don't really like to do that.
I can't believe Delta wants me to close the door if i ***on the plane!?! What an inconvenience to my person! I mean, *** the other 99 people on the plane, we're talking about my PERSONAL rights.
I hope the plane crashes.

As a mother, I can see why she'd be mad. If my kid is hungry, a little titty isn't gonna kill anyone. Don't like? That's the gift of heads, they can turn away. Some people just don't want to turn to bottles so soon. However, covering up would have just been better for everyone's sanity in this case. At least that's what I'd do; planes get cold man. Don't need my ta-tas freezing over.
Babies get hungry. Would you rather hear a baby cry for 10 minutes while mom finds a private spot (on a plane, nonetheless, and what if the bathroom is occupied?)? I have a 2.5 year old who throws fits for that long and it drives me up a *** wall.
Food for thought.

Just another example of "It's ok to infringe your rights as a citizen until it's your right being infringed."
Those who argue against breastfeeding in public wouldn't like any of their indecent acts being demonized, and those who are for breastfeeding in public like to demonize other crude acts in public.

If the baby is hungry, cover your breast up and nurse. It is not that hard, if you have to nurse, cover yourself with like the baby's blanket or something.

Well, no. I meant all aspects of breast feeding. Like, some people are so zealous about it that if they see a woman bottle feeding her child in public, they will go up to that woman and harass here about it.
Which is, in fact, the breastfeeder harassing, not being the harassed.

For once I'll find myself in disagreement with Kara, it makes me sad.
I'm not necessarily against public breast feeding, just use some damn discretion, and most do. People from both sides have taken it too far and it's become a debacle.

Breastfeeding is a crude act? On par with what indecent acts? I was referring to the crude acts that people who demonize breastfeeding commit.
Please don't infer anything in that comment when there is nothing to infer.
More damage has been done with people smoking in a public area than mothers breastfeeding their kids.

public smoking should be banned, along with smoking with children in the car, or house.

How do you know the baby isn't a pervert and that isn't his mother ? Breastfeeding conspiracy going on. Random baby has kinky fetish for milk.

On the subject of public breastfeeding itself, I really don't care.
My concern is really for the mother and child, as you know there are weirdos out there who would just stare with a weird slack-jawed grin.

Easier said than done.
I had to move with my daughter half across the country last year. Driving was not an option, and even if it was, with a kid who was barely 2 at the time, it would be a lot more stressful than just taking a plane. In my case, she had already kicked the bottle habit, but she was still cranky being on a plane for 5 hours. Doubling (or even tripling) the travel time wouldn't help matters.
Point is, less people would be "inconvenienced" by crying babies and exposed ta-tas, but traveling with a young child is stressful regardless of travel conditions.

While I agree with you that she should have been conscientious enough to use the blanket when offered, the bolded is kind of a ***comparison seeing as though that is purely sexual. Most guys should be able to separate breasts in a sexual context from breasts in the anatomical/functional context by the time they reach adulthood.

I'd be apprehensive about using an in-flight bathroom simply because of the possibility of hitting some rough turbulence.
