Was looking into this fight so I can get the body piece for my blue Mage. The information I find on it says it can be solo'd. I am wondering if this was the old version and not the one I need.

Can this fight be solo'd or perhaps duo? Is the bst solo strategy from the old fight still a valid method?

There are various difficulty settings, like with AA's I would assume Very Easy is soloable, but Good Luck on drop.

Not sure about soloable but a friend and I have duo'd VE on PLD +THF a few times. Bring some yag drinks for the PLD and eat attack food to speed up the fight. THF melees the exoplates in the first form and WSs the orbs to kill them (one decently geared exenterator takes them down) and the rest of the fight is a joke

consider that your chances at body are in the 1-3% range and think about whether you really want to potentially spend 1500 merits on this

higher difficulties, the droprate isn't bad at all

the fight in general is easy. And most people seems to be interested in the dagger/battery, not so much on body. So i'd suggest you to just try get a 6 and do higher difficulties because drop rates are too miserable otherwise

Is there any strategies posted so I know what jobs to shout for?

Here's the best strategy we've run with thus far:

MNK NIN THF WHM COR BRD

Everyone subs NIN except the NIN, who should sub WAR.

Buff up with March x2 (minuets if 3-song+ BRD) and Chaos + Hunter's if difficult or Warrior's/Rogue's if Normal.

MNK and THF run in and start taking down exoplates. THF can SA solo and TAWS the MNK to try to keep hate on the MNK. NIN stands a little bit outside and provokes orbs as they spawn. A good NIN should be able to kill orbs before the next one spawns, or just tank both at once. WHM keeps everyone hasted and cure skinned with cure3, BRD and COR do... BRD and COR ***, I dunno, the COR can shoot if they feel comfortable.

When Exoplates go down, NIN MNK and THF all converge on the kid until he dies, he goes down REALLY fast with good DDs.

After the CS Rebuff songs, except this time throw Scherzo in the mix just in case he gets something nasty off. Melee should do their best to bounce hate around. THF collaborating anyone with too much hate really helps. We found what worked well was using Collaborator on whoever had too much hate, then TAWSing them to get them back up to even. Eventually he dies and you win.

If you're aiming for normal mode, DD/nin x3 pld brd/nin whm/nin will suffice, Kyera pretty much covered the strat there

Personally have done normal with drg/nin pld/war mnk/nin rng/nin whm/nin brd/nin, rng/nin x2 mnk/nin pld/war whm/nin brd/nin. And done difficult with rng/ninx3 pld/war brd/nin whm/nin. All pretty much walk in the park as long as people have shadows up

I did

WHM BRD DNC (Doctorugh was DNC who coincidentally smashed everyone in parse and took least overall dmg) and THF MNK. VD wasn't too bad.

What difficulty is this though?

Both normal and diff. Only difference is in diff you want madrigals or hunters on the melee doing the orbs, and on diff sometimes the THF needs to break off to help with orbs if they spawn too fast.
