Anyone Else Play With /names Off?

For the past couple of years worth of playing, I've gotten used to playing with names off (through the /names command). Does anyone else do this? I seem to find that names being onscreen clogs up most of the viewing area due to the size of the lettering. This happens mostly in town, of course. Many people seem to like having names on just so that they can see who's around, but I really don't have much of an issue with that since I don't really pay much attention to people around me unless they're in my party/alliance or if I'm helping them out.

I like to look in bazaars, so I want to see names to see an ls or bazaar icon.

I like names on. It would be great if RL had names over people's heads too. I'm really bad with names and forget people constantly. Also if I had names off I'd confuse identical Taru RDMs. That would be ugly.

i leave names on, but i never thought about not having it on

don't like to. I'd hate to think of how many NM's i'd pass up, not having /names on.

I prefer names. Too many people I know have same character model and face.

I keep them on when I play but I always take them /off before taking a screenshot.

Nothing ruins a great, epic screenie faster than seeing, "XxSeferothxX" over a character.

Hmm, I must be the odd one out then. I thought there would be others who saw the names as spam all over the screen. Does anyone know if there is a way, then, to raise the resolution of onscreen text like that shown as names (not chat specifically)?

Only time I turn off names is for screenshots and for feeble attempts at reducing lag in dragon's aery.

Yeah, download the stuff off this person's livejournal. Everything's really nice, the style icons are great and cartographer is very handy.

You aren't the only one! I play with names off, i think its ugly with names on, and i don't really socialise with alot of people ingame, and the people i do all have different char models so i know who they are.

I like to see PC/NPCs. <_<

Names off reduces lag, so it's good for events like Einherjar where names aren't important. Assists in Dynamis might want to keep names on so they target the correct mob fast.
