I go to abyssea as sch/blm and just aga the hell out of everything. 30 merits in 30 mins/1 hour depending if other people are there helping or not. :P
I definitely think Celestial is do-able. Taking both viles next time. xD

Also not AA's, but once you understand his moves I think he's definitely soloable. Got him to 5% in 10 minutes on first form, I just never fought him before so I didn't know how his hate worked/what moves did. /nin wins. xD
Awesome, thanks for posting this. We attempted the Stellar Fulcrum BC with BSTx2 and SMN. Everything went just fine until the Fetters started showing up. It didn't take long for things to spiral out of control after that.
I'm wondering if that BC is soloable at all on BST, but I'd certainly be happy to hear that Celestial is (if possible).
I dunno if the Kam one is or not, I certainly can't figure out how to deal with the fetters. I definitely think Eald is though, and love to help encourage fellow peoples playing a job I love and get a ton of crap for playing. lol

GL on your next run. I think it's solo'able on bst also. NIN sub is probably superior for 80% of the fight but on his final form around 20% hp left he start's using firaja and thundaja. That coupled with him teleporting ramdomly to people on his hate list might make DNC a better sub for his final phase for stun.

I watched your PUP video on the Celestial BC and was inspired. It's a shame Ibuki can't cast Cure V, but oh well. :D

You should! It's like having an undergeared monk and a whm with down syndrome following you around lol. Joking aside, if you enjoy doing things on bst, you'll enjoy puppetmaster as a job also. A lot of similarities that you'll feel at home with and a few unique tricks you wish you had a bst. I consider myself a bst main but I'm coming back from a 2 year absence from the game. I thought I'd use pup to regear my bst due to the similarities but ended up actually enjoying the job.

The key will be smn must switch immediately to the opposite element and kill the fetters fast with magical BP. Better would be the smn come sch sub and nuke them down as well. Let the fetters live to long game over....

Another issue we had was me getting one-shot by Light Blade. I guess I had assumed that utsusemi would absorb that.
By kenshynofshiva 2014-04-08 14:33:09
I had scherzo and earthen armor up full time for that one. But those damn fetters staying up was a killer for me painful for me and my mules to handle need to get better at knowing my fetter colors lol. That and the sucky hate reset...

I gotta stomp some GK and HM to get papers for my reforged bst relic head/legs. That's why I started doing these, LS slowed down on divine might and I need papers lol
Edit: Also want that damn felistris mask >=(

What is a recommended lvl for 2bst on galka? I 2 would like some papers. Also does the synth mats drop often on Ve or easy?

Synth mats do drop on VE and E. I can confirm that from other AA's.

My screens have some mats dropping in them. I find the taru/mithras mat drops like every 1/2 times or 1/3 times on VE. it's not a horrible rate. I got the coral off hm like 4 times, but it's only worth 20k :<
GK isn't bad on VE, he's easy to solo just takes a few mulsims/pet foods and you require a DT/phys damage- set for when he meiyko shuishi or however it's spelled. He'll do that like every 2 percent or so. xD
By Ravenn42 2014-04-09 12:08:25
So a duo bst or a duo bst and pup could easily kill mithra on easy? I also want mask and if the synth mats drop often than it can be a decent gil maker. There seems to be a lot of items out I want nowadays and I will need gil lol.

I find VE MR to be so easy that I don't bother with Easy. Someone posted an ACC master set for E difficulty MR. Would require loads of ACC to do, and you'll probably need a DT/Phys Damage- Set for the pet when she goes insane (25%-ish when she starts the cloudsplitter spam?) or you could use lots of mulsims and pet foods.
Duo would be easier maybe. I'm unsure what kind of impact increased TP feed would have on the fight. XD

I tried my first VE AA solo last night against AA HM, but just wasn't able to kill him in time. I got him down to a bit less than 5% and timed out. I had a rocky start, since I couldn't seem to cement hate on my pet, and lost time and potential damage output as a result - but I think I know how to solve that the next time I attempt the fight.
I do have a question about AA MR, since I'll probably try fighting her next - how do you deal with her pet? Do you ignore it? Or kill it? I expect that my own pet would keep shifting focus between them, forcing me to repeatedly use the "Fight" command on MR, but maybe MR's damage output is enough for my pet to focus solely on her? Also, does MR use Charm? If so, how do you deal with that?
I can't seem to find much information about the high-tier fights, and I hate going in blind. Any help would be much appreciated.

MR's attacks will be (or should be) higher than that of her pet, so your jug shouldn't flip-flop back and forth. You don't want to mess with her pet unless it's the Mandy - which if that's the case, you'll want to get rid of it asap.
MR will use charm, but it's ineffective on pets. If you use Unleash at the beginning of the fight, your pet should have a good amount of enmity built up. Just make sure you're using Snarl regularly, but particularly after each WS. That way, there should never be an issue of you being charmed rather than your pet.
Information on high-tier fights so you don't go in blind. :)

Thank you, I appreciate your help.
Opening with Unleash is precisely what I was going to do next attempt. I'm glad I'm on the right track.
As for the link, I've looked at that already, but it didn't really tell me what I was hoping to know, particularly details like what you mentioned about Charm.
So MR'll only attempt to charm whoever has hate at the time? I was concerned she'd just charm a random player in the arena, regardless of enmity.

Charm isn't random. If you notice during an AAMR fight or DM II run, MR always charms the PLD. She doesn't stop what she's doing and run across the arena (or hallway) to Charm a RNG.

Just tried the tenzen fight on both pup and bst. I don't think this will be a fight bst will excel in. Not because Tenzen was doing anything threatening but because of pet and terrain mecahnics. Once the tarus start casting things your pet actually goes after them even when they're on an elevated platform. Your pet actually sucessfully climbs the ledge hitting the tarus for 0 dmg. The problem is tenzen can't hit him so he goes yellow and starts going after you. Tried positioning the pet closer to the tarus but tenzen still goes yellow and starts harassing you.

Thanks for the input. Is it cheating to bring a BRD along? :D

Some fights you got to do what ya got to do. If pets can't stay on target it will be ugly and long or impossible since it can't kill the little guys...

Might try one more time on bst with a different pet. By a long shot maybe because the tulfaire is a flying pet he can move around terrain better and get to the tarus. If you could get your pet to stay on tenzen this fight would probably take less than 10 mins.

I think as long as Tenzen gets a higher initial damage output on your pet over the taru's, there shouldn't be flip-flopping. But once you first get aggro on Tenzen, the taru's are already casting on you while you spend 2+ seconds getting into position and/or pulling Tenzen to one of the far corners. At least that's how I'm picturing the scenario playing out.
I've been somewhat obsessed with the idea of soloing/low-manning Ark Angels using my Beastmaster, but I wanted to ask if anyone has attempted to do this yet either solo or in a small group? If so, what was your experience like?
I duo'd Elvaan on VE with a SMN friend just to get an idea what the experience would be like. We won, but our overall completion time wasn't the best given the difficulty.
Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.
