Legalization of prostitution:
Arguably the most difficult of things to change with American society being so prudish. The idea here is the same as the legalization of pot. We license prostitutes and create legal areas for them to work in. I came to this idea after seeing how poorly average streetwalkers are treated and how they're hunted down by police. It can be decriminalized and taxed to generate money, and keep money from leaving the country on foreign "sexpeditions." The idea behind this is people who want to use prostitutes will use them, and this is a way to protect both the prostitute and the buyer with mandatory monthly screenings required for license, safe houses to protect from violence against either party, and less anxiety for all involved. Texas alone spends almost 8million dollars a year housing prostitutes in prison, and the industry itself pulls in up to an estimated 30 billion a year. That's one hell of a national source of income if taxed and licensed properly. It also help individuals too. People may not like it but some have to turn to prostitution to get by, and legalizing it can help consenting adults of legal age get the money needed to have a reasonable life. It goes along with one of my firm beliefs that what these people do with their bodies is none of your f*cking business.
I haven't read my way through this entire thread yet, but this one caught my eye. New Zealand has already legalized prostitution, and it hasn't gone particularly well, although some of that is due to the idiocy of the New Zealand Government. Loopholes exist in their legislation because they failed to adequately define where prostitutes could "work", and as such, brothels have popped up everywhere you can imagine, including next to schools. While I'm sure the clientele don't mind, general public sentiment toward prostitutes isn't exactly glowing if you know what I mean.
The NZ Governments' main drive for legalizing prostitution was to ease the burden on the police force. The irony of course, is that the murder rate of prostitutes has gone up, and I'm sure that requires a tad more police work.
It's also disgusting to know that since prostitution was legalized, some children have "found" their way into the trade. I remember an article from a couple of years ago where a member of the public had noticed a teenage streetwalker on one of the busier streets of Wellington. The person approached the teenager and said something to the effect of "You should be ashamed of yourself, what would your Mother think if she knew you were here?", to which the girl replied "You can ask her, that's her working the other side of the street!"
Then there's sex slavery. Since prostitution was legalized, more and more sex workers have come into the country from other parts of the world, and although I haven't personally seen any articles citing evidence, there have been plenty of allegations that some are in the trade by force.
Legalizing prostitution might sound like a good idea on paper, but it's one of those things that in reality, just opens up too many other cans of worms.

as i said earlier. nk has enough arms for one massive burst. the first day i could see a million people dying. the artillery along the dmz alone would obliterate seoul instantly. if they actually (and i don't think they can) get a nuclear explosive out of their own country it will definitely have a big impact. that being said, their warhead skills are lacking. their missiles break up way too fast and their trigger mechanisms give them like a 60% success rate on detonations. i don't see them as a nuclear threat, and they aren't dumb enough to actually launch an attack on anyone. they couldn't possible win. the huge army they have is of poor underfed conscripts with probably the highest desertion rate in the world. You are severely overestimating their artillery capabilities, yeah, they could do some damage to Seoul, the outer suburbs for sure, if they actually get there, and if their rounds actually explode, which is a toss up most of the time. But words like "obliterate" and "500,000 rounds in an hour" and "a million casualties" is just pure propaganda BS. Just like the idea of them being a threat to anyone. Propaganda by the US military? The US are the ones making these estimates.

If you're going to legalize prostitution you should set aside specific areas and require a license.
Setting aside a specific area with some amount of protection and with the same zoning requirements as a strip club should be the most obvious of starting places for any government considering legalization of prostitution.
The licensing process would require several forms of ID, monthly STD screenings, and disclosure of STDs. Any prostitute without a license or john using a prostitute without said license would be arrested and fined. Not having a license could mean that you're under-aged, have an STD you don't want potential customers to know of, or are evading taxes by working outside the system. Enforcing the those rules helps to protect the health of those involved and cut down on under-aged prostitution.
It seems better than forcing consenting adults, of legal age, that turn to prostitution to put themselves into more dangerous situations in attempts to avoid the police. It also seems better than forcing everyone else to pay to lock these people away, especially considering these people wouldn't have been locked away for doing the exact same thing if money hadn't been involved.

So instead of Police arresting prostitutes, they instead need to check their ID to make sure they are operating within the confines of the law? Doesn't seem like much of an improvement...

It saves us possibly hundreds of millions a year in housing prostitutes in jails/prisons, while allowing us to tax a sex industry that pulls in an estimated 30 billion a year.

You have no idea of the stance of France when it comes to muslims, that's the issue in you talking about it. I've spent over 20 years of my life in a French city that is literally nicknamed "the capital of Maghreb". Now, in case you didn't know, Maghreb is the alliance of 3 muslim countries.
I have never met a single muslim from said city that agreed with the need for Burqa in France, and you know why? Because the average muslim is a respectful person that wants to blend in and live a peaceful life, in peace with both his religion and the country he chose to live in.
The Burqa tends to go against it and the cloth itself bred a new wave of extremist muslims wanting to disrupt the peace that the old generation of muslim who came to France in the 60's after the war built over the decades.
Seriously, don't even talk about this topic, you're pathetic.
America's actions can't be stopped for many reasons. Same goes for China and Irael. Now, you'll notice something funny between these 3 countries and what has been happening in Africa and middle east.
The rest of your post was nothing but ***, literally, you're nothing but a puppet of your government, unable to think for yourself and dig in the mountain of information that is internet in order to understand what is going on. Furthermore, you even open your mouth about a topic you have no clue about. That's the main reason as to why you're laughable. You keep feeding on what your American medias tell you, like a good boy, like a good sheep. Keep it up, you're literally the American model they want you to be.

If I was president...
Ridicule and hate would no longer be acceptable forms of entertainment.
Comparing how much someone else failed in life will no longer be an acceptable means of gauging ones own success.
"Love to hate" will no longer be acceptable because there is no love in hating.
The above mentioned changes when in effect will most likely also stop fueling the bully mentality we promote in society and will also end school bullying. (Or at the very least the behavior will no longer be accepted and viewed as "cool" or funny)
(Free punch and pie when you vote for me) There goes rap.

Wow someone is angry lol. Your rage it confuses me!
You're right on the first part I can't really claim to know the full stance as I'm only going off some articles I read. It still seems to impose an infringement on personal religious freedom whether or not there are a number of muslims that agree it is not necassary to wear one. The ones that do want to wear one should not be allowed to? You can't be a respectful muslim that just wants to live a peaceful life in a burqa?
They can't be stopped for a number of reasons? Please enlighten my ignorant self.
Puppet of my government? Living in Texas? Am I a republican now too? I may be ignorant about some things i'll admit that but overall no. I don't live in texas either lol. It is truely easy for you to throw out baseless insults about things you have no idea about lol.
Sounds to me though more like you're ruled by emotion and have no grasp on what reality actually is. You really don't have much to say other than call me names do you?
Edit: Also, if you're going to accuse someone else of ignorance you shouldn't speak about things that blatantly show your own.

Assuming an industry accustomed to illegality is willing to become 100% legal. Somehow I find that unlikely.

I can't imagine your average streetwalking prostitute, as opposed to the high dollar call girls, not wanting to change to safer environments that also prevents them from having to worry about about police whatsoever.

It's like that in a few countries and it works. Yes, it sure isn't easy to make it work because there's a lot surrounding it, but your approach is a bit too fatalist.

although i agree with your assumptions about prostitution, what a criminal wants should be the lowest consideration in domestic policy, even if it aligns with more important reasoning.

If you feel you are good enough for presidency then try to play Democracy 3. It's a fairly realistic simulator for politics and economy. You just need to do everything you wanted to do (legalize prostitution, weeds...etc) and pray that people won't hate you enough so you can get enough votes for next election.

I think prostitution is one of those things that's a little different in that the ones often considered the criminals can be the ones most taken advantage of.
There's no law against f*cking consenting strangers of legal age, but if you f*ck consenting strangers of legal age and take a few bucks for it, it's suddenly a crime. So the most tangible reason for it being illegal in this day and age is tax purposes.
I think it's really just another means for people to earn themselves a living if they're either desperate or just okay with making a living that way.
Regardless, many people can benefit from this. Prostitutes, Johns, families of Johns who are affected because of cheating partners, and anyone who benefits from government projects that benefit from the tax revenue.

All you folks who are talking about sex workers and its industry... have you ever actually done any reading up on it? I have to assume not by the exclusive use of the word "prostitute."
It's actually a really complex affair, even in countries like the US where it is not only illegal but regularly prosecuted. The laws largely exist to prevent people being streetwalkers, which is just as well considering the insane amount of danger involved for being at the bottom of the payscale. Most folks who want to legalize or decriminalize sex work, though, are a completely different sort altogether. Same goes for their clientele, and not merely as a consequence of differing economic circumstances.
What's really interesting, at least in my mind, is looking at the differences between female and male sex workers in the US. The latter group is actually kind of remarkable in ways that reflect very badly on our cultural values regarding gender.

Pretty sure Europe knows a bit or two about global oppression but it's all 'Murica now I suppose. Europe should also know a thing or two about what happens when nationalist sentiments spill over amidst public unrest.
The only thing worse than American exceptionalists are Europeans who think they can shout down morality from the rafters without turning inward to their own failings. Lol...hypothetical warfare. The west coast's missile defenses are built up, even if they did get a missile in the air, all we'd have to do is shoot it down with something that can intercept it before it reenters the atmosphere, then maneuver one of the 18 Ohio-Class nuclear submarines near North Korea, and we can pretty much select key points for the roughly 20-24 nuclear missiles those submarines have. 20-24 targets selected, and pretty much say "If you try to launch a nuke at us, we'll pretty much just lay waste to a good chunk of your land."
I'd rather intimidation be used instead of destroying innocent (Though some brainwashed) civilians and their homes.

When I am President.
Borders will be closed and all soldiers will be recalled. If somebody screws with us we have the worlds most powerful Navy and Air-Force. There is no reason for troops to be on the ground shooting at anyone.
If a country wants to trade with us they will pay a hefty tax. The #1 main reason the USA has no jobs is we buy stuff oversea's for cheaper than we can make stuff here. Imagine the USA having to start making everything its citizens need again.
If you can't speaky de ENGLISH you will be deported!! Chance's are if you cant the taxpayers are supporting you in some way. Also, I'd rather pay more people to round up a deport illegals, than pay for the illegals to be here.
Last but not least REPEAL ObamaCare and DEPORT anyone who thought it was a good idea. Nice way to be a racist and ignorant ***.

Ever since I first left America for three years and realized how poorly people from other countries seemed to look at the good ol' USA, and how bad I think the political system has gotten, I've added the US presidency to my bucket list.
Every day I eat, sleep, lift, and study in an effort to some day put myself if a financial situation where I can acquire my name and secure my way to the presidency in a route quite different than a typical politician, though not unfamiliar to the game altogether. Name recognition is the route I'm after.
When I'm president I've thought of a few things I'd like to see changed, and open them up for debate, and maybe let some of you plebes alter the ideals of a future US president. In no particular order:
Esperanto Second Language classes starting in elementary:
Esperanto is a created language that's kinda simple to learn in comparison to others, and can be vaguely understood by some people who don't even speak it as it uses a lot of familiar roots and affixes to create words, has set pronunciations for all letters, and grammar rules that lack the exceptions seen in English. It's estimated by some that a native speaker of romantic languages would take roughly 150 hours to become proficient enough to communicate easily with the language, which is incredibly fast if you know anything about learning languages. It's culture neutral, and would help foster cultural exchanges and ease communications between Americans and Europeans and Central/South Americans. It can also help with the absorption of other languages, so instead of being an end in itself, it could be a means to help one become multilingual, something that's rare for most Americans.
National legalization and taxation of Pot:
Hopefully this one will change by the time I'm president and it'll be one less battle for me to fight. Legalization means less money spent fighting it and more money from taxing it. Decriminalization right now would save Americans as lot of money as is. I do not believe legalizing it will cause an epidemic because anyone who wants to try it will try it anyway because you can easily get it on most city street corners as it is. I know I don't want to smoke pot now and I won't smoke it when it's legal. It's already been legalized in Colorado and look how terrible that's gone, right? They're on track to generate 100mil in the first year of taxation, imagine even half of that from all 50 states.
Super PAC Busting and Corporations are Not people:
I will bust the sh*t out of any source of large scale, unlimited "donations" to politicians. Nothing will be anonymous on this issue and I will make damn sure something like this doesn't happen again in my lifetime. We've allowed these people to make it perfectly legal to buy off politicians, and that defeats the entire purpose of a representative democracy.
National Legalization of Gay Marriage:
Again, who the f*ck are you to tell someone who can and can't get married? It's as simple as that, live and let live. This is another issue I shouldn't have to worry about by the time I'm president, I hope.
National Weight Training Requirements for all Teenagers:
Requiring all teenagers to have classes in weight training is a great way to improve the shape of America from early on. It saves money in medical costs, is much safer than almost all sports Americans commonly engage in at high school, and does wonders for self-esteem. All beginners can see rapid gains in strength, and with that can be urged to continue. Striking at the age of puberty, the training can have the highest effect on young males with their almost freakish rate of growth.
Closing Tax Loopholes:
Cracking down on this is extremely important. People have come to see taxes as evil instead of a necessary part of government. With the way the current government works, I'm not surprised people distrust and hate taxes when they don't see as much benefit from them as they should and the wealthy pay a disproportionate amount. Closing tax haven and last in first out accounting loopholes, among many others, are things that must be stopped, it costs the American government over $100 billion a year.
Military Changes:
America doesn't need as large a standing army as it has. We could easily cut the number in half over time and not have to worry thanks to technological advances. Also, America will never again invade and occupy another country. It's costly, stupid, and makes people hate you even more.
Legalizing the Sale of Organs:
This one I can't really believe isn't a legal thing yet. Relying on the altruism of others is a fool's game. We have a shortage of organs needed and desperate people will turn to underground shady alternatives. Properly screening donors for an extended period of time removes the risk of "faulty" organs, gives donors time to think over the procedure and its consequences, and protects both parties. It also offers a final safety valve on your financial issues if the need becomes great enough. Once again, it offers people a choice of what to do with their lives that is no one else's business.
Those are just some of the things that are on my agenda. There are other things, but mostly just paradigm shifts instead of laws. Nothing will change if we don't change the views of the people in general. I want to help people see the government as something working for them, which is how it's supposed to be. I want to cut down on the litigious nature of the American people, by encouraging people to be less gigantic pussies and by simplifying all laws in general. I want to encourage the new generations to honor the spirit of a law more than the letter. I want to encourage tolerance of all people regardless of skin color, sexual orientation, nationality, religion (or lack thereof), or profession. I want to encourage the American people to stop looking for the easy way and extol the value of actual hard work. I want to make people realize that we are not all equals, but we all deserve basic and equal rights and opportunities, that while we may not all make ourselves into the next Bill Gates, Russell Wilson, or Tom Hanks we all have the same chance to make something of ourselves by working hard. I want to kill the new almighty god above all: The American Dollar.
I want to encourage these things by leading by example and making use of the indomitable human will we can all possess.
So come at me f*ckers! What would you do if president? What do you agree or disagree with?
Edit: some typos.
