Its not THAT bad, its just not Fudo and gear has evolved in the favor of melee WSs. Its also very consistent at 27k with R15 Yoichi.
At 75 it was extremely strong due to Soboro spam being such a huge WS frequency increase.
At 99 it was extremely strong due to gimics, hate being a huge issue and it paired nicely with Amano/Zanhasso.

If SE want bow sam to shine again, SE need to reintroduce level correction(or increase pdif cap I guess), it's the main reason bow sam was the best dd in legion

I actually enjoy using my Yoichi sam. It's also an easy way to do stuff like Ou, Fu, and other things in omen if you want to play it safe and sit back.

I've been using Yoichi a bit messing around farming omen cards with shining one. It's mostly to pull, but Namas > Impulse Drive is actually pretty decent. Easy 30k.

I actually enjoy using my Yoichi sam. It's also an easy way to do stuff like Ou, Fu, and other things in omen if you want to play it safe and sit back.
When I am doing Fu I melee it the entire time on my SAM, double GEO for haste, attack, wilt and frailty.
If the buffs absorbed are the same on all characters it only counts as 1 absorb (4 protects absorb, count as 1 buff absorb) this makes it easy to manage how many buffs you feed. When I am doing Fu this way I only give 4 buffs, Pro Shell, Barfira, Haste. I tick off Hasso when I am approaching a threshold.

Tachi: Jinpu at 3k(2,250 w/ doji + moonshade) TP with 0 buffs is easier.

Not the point. I don't have any problems getting 30k. Normally just konzen fudo anyways.
I'm just saying it's something you can do with Yoichi, which is what is being discussed. I happen to pull with it, and I like goofing off with shining one so why not.

Mine are WSdmg augments...but I just use Shining one for fun. Masa/Doji 99% of the time.

basically the same as a fudo set
if you're seriously dedicated, i suppose you could try to augment crit dmg on valorous with the other typical stats
no clue if it'll be a dramatic difference, though

Even with SAMs crazy TP gain (especially in a zanhasso set) without Rogues roll you are looking at a 1/3 chance at a crit.
Beyond the hand slot you are exchanging *** for tat.
Valorous head has crit rate, Valorous hands have crit damage giving them an edge over other options. Hands have SCdmg which pulls them ahead when closing.

I'm interested in what you guys think and how you might change the list. Finding it hard not to agree.
People tend to dismiss Amano and Koga too easily (especially Koga).
I use Amano here and there when I want to limit damage for specific reasons, Koga is a good bit above.
And Shining One need for buffs really can't be understated.
Only thing I'd add is where does Shining One without proper buffs stands. I'm kind of annoyed when I see so many people getting one, thinking they can suddenly play SAM and do well and they'd be better off using any R0 weapon they have.

Yoichi R15 needs a nod somewhere towards the bottom.
Very consistent damage but also very little enmity.
Finally got to finish the video. Glad you confirmed R15 Masa being better at everything. I r15ed Doji recently and have been nothing but disappointed in its performance vs Masa’s.

SU5 GK and Yoichi would actually make a very potent combo, the problem I see right now is that there just aren't many situations where it's ideal or practical to use it or justify the price tag, especially with how amazing Dirge is right now for melee setups.
With that said, the biggest bane right now to melee method stuff is pre-ilvl hate mechanics. I am wondering if Namas spam would be effective in allowing the tank to keep hate... Might have to try it out for myself.
