My setup:

58 Togetic
47 Lugia
48 Typhlosion
41 Raikou
36 Gyarados
25 Steelix

><

Think I'll level Gyarados a bit so he can land a few Ice fangs on that dragon hippy ***.

Interesting...
I use a different approach so I don't know to help (I don't use legendaries and everyone is even level'd). Ice Fang would help, but since it's still only like 65 base attack, it may take two. I would replace Gyarados with a more useful water-type like Lapras, which learns Ice Beam on its own. Not sure what the point of Steelix is (revive swap person?).

Maintenance is not an update. Two entirely different things.
Yet some people are so easily confused by them.

If you need an Alakazam Row just ask. I can trade. No point in waiting since it learns the same moves at the same levels as Kadabra, just a major stat boost.

I'm on the route to Indigo Plateau and my setup is: 45 Ho-oh 38 Ampharos 36 Feraligatr 34 Kadabra 31 Gyarados 24 Gligar Edit: I was using a level 32 growlithe

You will get your *** handed to you >_>

That's if you make if as far as Lance lol.

Has I'm raising a Steelix as a tank so to speak, once I level it up a bit he will be extremely hard to KO against most types.

Good thing about the Elite 4 is you can use it as an easy training area. Just don't revive / heal if you know you're about to lose. Just keep entering and dying. 3~4 rounds and you'll be in the 40s.

Thing about Steelix is...many types have Special Attack variants. Now against normal trainers he'll do fine, but in the Frontier he'll get owned since his Special Def and Attack are pretty much poo. Trainers think of everything in the Frontier. >.>;

But certain Pokemon just become bitched in front of Steelix, lol.

Think of it as Pokemon Stadium / Colosseum, just built in-game. All versions Emerald+ have it. Pretty much 'endgame.' You get all the badass hold items, TMs, and tutored moves from it.

Only Lance used a ***-ton. You have to outsmart them. Find a way to get their peoples to about 35% then go for the kill. Don't get them in red.

Where's a good place to level my Gligar? Higher level pokemon that are weak to dark/ground?

First of all, make it a Glisor. Make it hold Razor Claw (I believe) at night and level it up. Do this as SOON as possible. You get a better moveset. Second, just go through the Elite Four and slap an Exp Share on it. If you don't know where to get it, go to Mr. Pokemon's house (that first dewd you encountered above the first town where you got the Running Shoes. Can't remember the name.) He'll offer to trade it for the Red Scale you got (no other use for it).

I got a red scale? I can't get a razor claw without doing frontier D:

I honestly recommend waiting then, or finding someone else. Gilgar alone is trash. c.c
