Apradar only shows you something if you're <50' from it. So having apradar won't help you find a tablet if you're not in tabbable range of it anyway.

That's not true. They still show up on widescan. They always have done, and still do; you just have to be close enough for them to actually be visible for them to appear. That's the change they made.

I've seen a lot of posts on BG about it not working. I wouldn't be surprised if every one of those posts were by people with locked apradar.

I won't cry if I get banned. I know the risks.
But it is completely untraceable. All apradar does is display all the info the server is sending to your client. The default interface shows minimal data, but everything that your character might interact with (including dead bodies and invisible monsters like VNMs) is still being processed by your client. SE just chose to withhold it from viewing.
So apradar is only showing what the server is sending anyway. When you move from 50' range of something, you can no longer target it - meaning it drops off of apradar as well. It's basically a glorified radar that actually shows you all the information the server is loading.

They always appeared on widescan, except at first they would appear to a RNG75 4 map squares away. Then they changed it so, like tabbing onto them, you can only widescan them from a certain distance away (which is under 50', so it's not an advantage at all.) All widescan would be useful for is in mazey zones like Ro'Maeve or something where you need to pinpoint it's exact location through walls.

I've mentioned my thoughts on windower and plugins before. I limit my usage to things that I could do myself. Distance plugin is the closest I use to cheating since I never learned how much distance on screen equals how many yalms. (recast just saves time in menus, etc.)
Apradar does nothing but keep me from spinning in circles and tabbing over and over.

FFxi hasn't changed there Tos since like 04-05 when they more or less got rid of it and just started using the user agreements. If you notice you haven't actually agreed to anything when logging in for a long *** time. And even if they did that they could still get the pants sued off them. And you can't just ninja stuff like that in and have it hold up.
