Gotta love sackholders that abuse their power. I was in a Linkshell on Midgard forever ago that hated me because they saw me as a "Power hungry *** who only wanted a sack." The irony is that I probably would've made a better sackholder than most of them XD

So saturday, me and a few people i knew (some from my linkshell others were random people) went to level at Caedeva Mire (spelled that wrong i bet) and i wasn't the syncee but 69 was the sync (i was 65 at the time) it wasn't horrible exp but i was having fun with the imps. It went by super fast. The paladin had to go and so did the bard. I tried long and hard to find reps and eventually i got a WAR/DNC who said he can tank (i know him, he's a decent tank and i don't like to keep people waiting) i also got a BRD/WHM from the linkshell. Here's where things go wrong.
There were two WAR (WAR/DNC and a WAR/NIN) and the war/nin (another ls mate) said he's not really a good tank but he can ping pong the mob and such. IT was going pretty good for a while til the BRD started to talk *** (no idea why, he didn't have to join if he didn't want to) saying he'd rather have waited for a PLD than have a WAR tank and let me rest my MP (i'm a WHM/SCH) --i didn't realize til later that night that it was an ironic statement i was too tired to care tho-- Then he took it to the linkshell and there was a small discussion/arguement about WAR being a tank. Some people EVEN someoen i know who've played for a long time, agreed WAR is supposed to be a tank class (ya know cuz PLD wasn't around at the time neither was NIN) and that NIN was more of an enfeebling class like RDM. (i don't know anything bout the NIN class and i thought it was more of a DD class) Now before you guys shun me for getting a WAR tank, there were no PLD or NIN (the usual tanks) avail and i could tell people were getting antsy. Then i got booted by someone (i think i know who but he's denying it). short version: I got a WAR who said he can tank (we did pretty well til the BRD started talking smack) because no PLD or NIN were avail and got booted from the ls cuz WAR is up there as a tank job (3rd best to my understanding). idk if i'm missing anything or not x.x besides that nobody died when we got the party going. (some died of agro getting to the camp but during the 1 1/2 hours i think it was of exping, i kept everyone alive and only rested once) Edit: Oh and the BRD shunned me for wearing my WHM AF armor. War tanks do just fine, albeit in some situations you do want a nin or pld, but that's aside the point totally. I saw him at 0mp alot of times (i asked him to be the backup healer so i could rest some and the pty could keep going. he did at first but then didn't bother to give himself mage's ballad) Ramuh.Rowland said: Good Morning. Yeah, i've had that happen a few times, as far as you getting kicked from a LS because of that, it seems really unjustified. But in reality you're probably better off not in that ls if they are going to back up a lolbrd like that. 2nd: You built a party using what you had, and from the sound of it, it was effective. A couple of side note: BRDs get quick invites and a lot of people "can't live without one." Because of this, a lot of them become *** or feel they have the right condescend anyone they're with. After all, they can just drop party and get another invite. My advice to dealing with these... Kick them or replace them. EXP is nice, but if you're doing well, they're not worth your time. Then there's the player base in general. It seems that more and more people are setting the bar to perfection, and get pissed when they don't get it. These are the types of people that would rather spend 20hrs with their flag up than get a Merit party without 2 BRDs or BRD/COR and Relic geared DDs (Last part's an exaggeration, but should get the point across). For every problem, they've got a "solution." No money for awesome gear? "Farm." After all, we all love spending all of our playtime farming for that generally useless +1 item. Need help for CoP? "Build a party, blah blah blah." Of course, they're not willing to help, or offer any advice. I mean, you've been playing a whole 2 days, you'd better as *** hell know every little detail of every mob, mission, quest, job, and piece of gear! *** NOOB! At least most of them also found it really unjustified with you getting booted, it sounds like your ls though really needs to reevaluate who their sacks are and who to trust with that because obviously if they are going to boot you over something so trivial they have a pretty poor lack of skill in managing anything. |
