Taru PLDs balance out nicely if they don't get one shotted. Enmity has been proven to be lossed based more upon the actual percentage of HP lost as opposed to the damage taken. Meaning tarus would lose hate at a progressively faster rate. However, in end game, where you're /NIN, it's not as bothersome anymore. VIT does not play an exponential part if you're not getting hit very much. But when they do, they're losing more than any other tank would.

The MP makes up for that. Having two-three extra Cure IV's per MP pool is more than justified for it, and might even give them the greatest hate spike race on PLD there is.

...like I said. This is assuming they don't get one shotted by that Fulmination.

I've got to send messages to people today to figure out where everyone is. 2 yesterday told me they wouldn't make it. 2 hadn't signed in for a few days. And I don't remember who the 5th person was.

Our group has 2 SMNs (counting you), a PUP, and a BST. Drag along Row and that's 3 SMNs.

It's the great debate for the week of 10/12!

I'll just level it anyways. I'm not looking into much EG outside of being BLM so I'm not worried.

Now doesn't taru have one of the top base EVA skill by race?

Mr. I've been playing for a year and I know everything about PLD said:
A taru will lose more enmity from taking more damage per swing than they will gain from an extra cure 4. So please get it to 75 and tank endgame before you comment.

Race doesn't really play that big a part in job selection anymore. Quit being in 2003 D:

Ive tanked with taru's Ive yet to be impressed by one. Now don't get me wrong yes anyone with select pieces will be able to play any job. But on average tarudin is garbage. For anything past an exp pt.

The only race that has any notice in it's EVA as compared to other races are catwomen. Don't even bother asking if you're not a cat, man. @_@

Yeah but that's more NIN's forte.

Taru has the second highest AGI in the game, only two below Mithra.

See I don't want to level NIN any higher than being a sub. I know my race would do ok, but AGI isn't high enough to make a huge difference to help with lack of HP. Personally I don't like NIN tanks.

BTW today is cellular phone's birthday according to wiki.

I'm a 75 and I agree, NIN can't even come close to PLD in terms of tanking but it's a fun *** job, no matter how you look at it. Being able to get a 56% delay reduction on your own, without Haste, is just awesome, but WITH haste, you're talking some serious speed. And since you're a NIN tank you'll almost always have Haste in parties.

Not to mention you can obtain 11% haste w.o even a swift belt or kitty pants. And i agree its is by far the most fun job i have to play. Soloing nin/dnc is even better because EVA + you get for /dnc.

Reminds me of the first time seeing one DD'ing that stupid egg quest in Pal mines. That mofo only stopped hitting for about 1 sec after 30 some swings.

I just couldn't keep up with spamming ele wheel, voke/stun (depending on sub) and keeping count of shadows. The gil that needs to go into it and the gear needed to make tanking easier. Just waaaaaay out of my league.

Alas you saw nin level before Yonin/Innin. Ele spam is a not nearly as required as it was. nad the gear for it isnt that expensive either.

My ONLY complaint about NIN is the Ninja tool requirement. 1 stack for each of the 6 elementals, 1 for Jubaku, Dokumori, Kurayami, and Hojo, 1 for Shihei, 1 for Sneak and 1 for Invis, then you have ToolBAGS, so double that number. That's 26 inventory spaces just to carry all the Ninja Tools.

Luckily Satchel lightens the load, even though it's still painful for someone like me with 9 75s and gear for four different non-75s.

I'm hitting the inv space problem. I can get 50/70 minimum when I'm on BLM. I can't get it down to 37 if I go on DRG, but my Dbox will be full and with all my space in MH. My 2 mules are full of gear for other jobs on my main. I don't have satchel nor do I think I'll get it, but I should since it's more space for a small price.

Satchel is 70-80 more spaces for a one-time fee of roughly 20 days of playing FFXI.

Unless you ONLY make 13 dollars a month, and therefore absolutely can not afford the extra ten dollars, it's so worth the price.

I suggest getting the satchel. I don't know how I managed without.

Edit: It's also a nice alternative to getting crafting mules enough fame for gobbie bag quests and spending the gil. Though both combined = tons of space.

Row is a pack rat lol.

Now does the satchel mimick your existing inventory or is it auto 80 slots?

You never realize just how nice it is until you can put your Sprinter's Shoes, Emperor Band, Tavnazian Ring, Olduum Ring, Kingdom Signet Staff, Utsusemi Toolbags, Silent Oils, Prism Powders, town gear, and desert boots all away, but still have them on you. And then you can keep your Alternate job's gear in your satchel, then just run to your MH, Switch jobs, and exit. Get your gear out while you run. Cuts gathering time for events or whatever down.

It's the exact same as your normal inventory. Meaning if you spent the 2M on the extra 10 slots in the first place, you get another 10 for your Satchel.
