SUP!??! Life progresses. Youngest has just passed his first birthday; swim lessons have started up again, so he'll be having his first one on Sunday. There's a bicycle festival this weekend, so we'll head into town and let the little ones have a good time mixing it up. They have a children's bicycle centimetermarathon (42k cm), which has about a thousand kids in it, so it will be one crazy mess. We bought the used car, so far so good. Ordered a 3D printer this week, so we'll be having quite a bit of fun with that once it is set up. Christmas presents for the children are acquired (Brio train set), and we found some very nice deals on used normal-sized Legos for when they can start playing with that (we now have about 13 kilos). Other than that, gradually getting things in order that have been neglected or put aside. Fun times.

Apparently, he bought a bunch of kiddos, one of whom was the guy from college, their first six-pack during a pick-up game of basketball and even played a little with them. He did some other things for the community. I'm not even sure what their gimmick was. Totally in the dark about that.

Now it's Germany vs Sweden for the gold medal in football. Men play Brazil for football gold tomorrow iirc. As for the vikings, I saw that missed field goal attempt against Seattle last playoffs. We're getting this season again on free tv. Looking forward to it.

Me: "Oh, I could probably just give him my old PC since it's still in good shape, just needs a new CD drive." GF's Father: "Ah, nah mine should be better, I've got some upgrade parts, and it's a Dell." *idle unimportant chat, basically leading into him agreeing to let me do the upgrades for him since he doesn't really understand how to put in the new power supply* Finally took the computer home today. Thing has no parts newer than 2004. This man was extremely sure that the new parts would beef up the computer enough for his son to game(or more realistically record video which is his main want for it). The "new" Graphics card he bought is a GeForce 7600... with 512MB of memory... The new power supply is 500W. ... Yea... I think I'm just gonna give the boy my old PC.

I know he also wants some data off the HDD. Problem being it uses and IDE cable... which I haven't seen myself in years and I have nothing currently I can plug it into. Basically I've broken costs down already and next time we go over there I'm gonna talk with him about it. Because looking at it currently, won't cost him more than $100 for everything I need(CD Drive, New OS[old one was pirated and I wiped the HDD a while ago to steal for my current computer], and a IDE -> USB cable so I can grab whatever he may want from that HDD. The PC isn't anything top of the line(it's a good 5-6yrs old) but it'll at least run games around low-medium depending on what he gets. Figure once I'm more stable income wise I may talk him into letting me work with his son to actually build his own PC later down the road. He's in that big "I wanna be a youtuber" or "I wanna stream" fad and I think he needs to get a handle on what that actually means in terms of taking care of his equipment.

Five or six is much better than a dinosaur circa 2004, and it's good that you're willing to lend your expertise while also trying to inch the brother into learning as well. Glad you're doing well!

My kids like to try to educate me in regards to the vast sums of money 'youtubers' make, and that for their generation, it's an admirable thing to aspire to.
