hey, you must have a little guy too. they're exhausting. mine knows too many words now, & enjoys the excessive use of 'no' atm. it's pretty funny. he's so happy about saying no, I'll ask him if he wants a cookie, get the "no", then a series of panicked 'yeses' good stuff. I'll have to get healthy & toss that little *** into a lake this next weekend. or a pool at the very least.

how old is your son? 2-ish?

Turns 2 in ten days! He mostly doesn't like using "no". He typically uses the sign for "all done" to mean no, since usually what he's refusing is food. He's kind of lazy in that regard - anything he has a sign for, he'll use that if he can. He's getting better about it, and we don't regret teaching him the signs (because they were SO HELPFUL early on), but it means we do have to really focus on making him use the words.

How old is yours?

that makes waaaaaaaaay more sense. I'm on painkillers still, I may be a little slow.

I found VHS tapes of pornography in my house in the drop ceiling in the basement when we bought it, got a good laugh out of that.

is there a way to make an alarm clock go off in like 3 months with a booze present for the new tenants? that would be amazing.

I'm sure I could rig something up. Maybe a bottle of Everclear is in order.

If it's like the stories I've heard about our old building (before I was here), drop ceilings are ideal for hiding your casework.

This apparently wasn't so well hidden in the old office. But some people ruined it for everyone, or so I've heard told.

Well, that depends, are you leaving them a present, or "revenge from beyond the grave"? Because if it's the latter, have a look at this.

Actual ASL or just sort of in-family/home signs for specific actions?

ASL seems like it would be a great boon in life in general to teach early.

The best way I can describe his personality is "cheeky". He's got that on lockdown. It's a blast.

Actual ASL, though a limited subset, obviously. They can sign and understand much earlier than they can talk, and it takes a lot of their frustration away, since they can communicate. Life got so much easier just learning "milk", "more", and "all done".

Yeah. It may be rougher transitioning but if you keep it up with them it really could be good for them. I've happened into relationships with several hard-of-hearing to stone-deaf folks and being around someone who even knowing basic finger spelling makes them a lot more comfortable at times.

Sorry about your mother, Chaos. Do you know if you are her blood type just in case? I hope her recovery goes well.

Morning all.

I hope it finds you at peace. I am kind of a loser. I think I went to work too soon after surgery, & pretty much burned myself right out. I crashed early friday night, & didn't rouse until I started getting worried calls from my grandma at noon. (the kids & I like to hassle her for breakfast on saturdays) so I didn't take the kids hiking, boating, camping, OR swimming. I get a big fat F in dadding for the weekend. shizzah.

the garden looks really nice though, & man are tomatoes some water guzzling ***.

Anyone get an A in mommin' / daddin'? you people with no offspring enjoy yourselves? what's up? what's next?

Since this weekend is the 4th, we lounged, relaxed and had an all around lazy weekend (other than a couple of loads of laundry). It was AMAZING!

Gave avocado creama a shot when we made fish tacos. Came out surprisingly well for a first shot. Maybe another jalapeno, but not bad.

Is this the behaviour at home or at the Kindergarten?

EDIT:
Semi-final between Germany and USA. Should be easy for you, guessing 1:3.

Oooh that is cruel. Ooh actually, there is a spot where it leaked before and will most likely leak again knowing this building. I could put a ton of glitter there, so when they lift the ceiling tile POOF! Glittered!

I'm assuming he wouldn't be in school yet as he is only just reaching 2.

Teaching ASL at that young an age is an interesting thought.

Don't know the name of the institution before Kindergarten in America, so I went with this as earliest I know.
(Zahrah what's the Ammerican equivalent for Kinderkrippe?)

Home. In public he's pretty reserved. Not timid, just isn't always sure of how to interact with other kids. Most of the other kids he sees are usually quite a bit older or younger. He has absolutely no idea how to play with the bigger kids, but the younger ones he'll try to share toys and interact by being nice, which always warms the heart to see.

"Daycare" or "preschool" are the common terms, but he's not in it anyway. Just lots of play-dates with other kids of friends.

Two is a little young even for daycare/preschool/head start (names varies depending on exact services and/or where you are in the country).
