Oh make sure to top up 002's power steering fluid tonight when it arrives and 1316 needs 4 litres of transmission fluid before it goes to Gilliam; remember they have to be running to check transmissions and off to check powersteering.
Why not fix the leaks that are causing low fluids?

Unrelated: I've found myself using a lot of my new free time to watch crime shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, and the like.
It's too expensive to access and get parts for, more efficient money/time to wait until the leak gets worst and the costs of adding fluids regularily outweighs the repairs or function is diminished.

Biggest worldwide bus company purchased my company a couple years ago so I don't argue with their crap I just make sure the schedules are kept.
Don't most buses have Cummins I6 diesels? Parts are usually easy to find for them, I thought.

I work in concrete and our tractor has a cracked block. Luckily the guy we're working for has a tractor with the same engine in it but the timing cog housing is busted. We're gonna work out a deal to get the tractor and salvage the engine.

Even if you state that it is private, the best policy is to expect that it can and will be shared with other posters. Once it is out of your control, having any expectation of privacy is generally a poor idea (particularly if you have no contractual/legal obligations in place).
Same thing I thought about the fappening scandal: the moment you share something you should take into account you're giving up any the secrecy of the content. They could share it any time regardless of how much trust you have in them. So when something you didn't want shared goes around you're to blame, you shouldn't have done that and you learned a lesson.

I've learned mine too, we all make such mistakes at some point.

Eh, at least some of them were obtained by forced access to cloud accounts. As for the stuff leaked by one of the parties involved or obtained from lost or surrendered devices, it's on you to protect your data on that level.

Yes and no
And yes and no. These days companies usually just lease prevosts.

The reason mechanics hate working on coaches is because the designs make it far harder to access anything for routine replacements (compared to trucks/similar work etc). The transit buses the city bought brand new a few years ago from a company called "new flyer" are cummins but holy crap, the engineers at that company must be *** high or utter morons or something. Literally the worst designed buses I've ever seen. They didn't even one with the glass certified; We were driving the thing illegally for over a year.

Everything is hard to access and everything is poorly mounted and poorly designed, it's embarrassing how much trouble these buses are. Each year I notice some new horrible design flaw cause us a plethora of new hassles. Dont even get me started on the condenser.

If you are ever buying a bus for a company, never buy "new flyer"

Believe it or not, MOST school buses use either Detroit or International engines. Older ones often used either Caterpillar 3208 (V-8 Diesel) or International, with some having N-series Cummins and occasionally a smaller Caterpillar 6 cylinder.

Assuming you're talking about the typical yellow bus and not the coaches.

Depending on the generation and engine, Passats are some of the easiest cars to work on.

Ugh I hate it when a company goes full shyster like that with design mechanics like "we removed the transmission dipstick on this model, take it to your dealership ***." To force people to do that and not let them check themselves.

Sad thing is more and more car companies are doing that now.

With good reason. The goal is NOT to keep people from doing their own service, it's to discourage unqualified people from doing harm to themselves or their vehicle.

Modern transmissions are VERY complex, even dealer line-techs rarely open them for anything besides a fluid change.

More of an umbrella term for a chassis configuration, it could be a transit bus or an RV.

It's the wrong term, they call them coaches because they resemble the production procedure of the early 20th century, where a manufacturer would sell powertrain/chassis to a coachbuilder who would then build a body/interior and sell the product as their own. A coach isn't a chassis configuration so much as the process through which into comes to being.

Diesel Pusher is just an everyman's term to help people differentiate between front and rear engine when DoT class isn't applicable.

For what it's worth, the chassis's sold by Ford/GM/Dodge to companies like Winnebago to be RV's and buses are a completely different class of coach, but are also considered coaches.

I like to know exactly how much I have left if I notice a leak. Imagine some poor person drives their car to the dealership instead of towing it and burns out the transmission. Or they tow it immediately upon seeing the leak and waste their money just because the company denied them the option of checking fluid level.

I'd never suggest anyone make repairs themselves or try to buy/add transmission fluid on ther own.

Would the fluid level determine how long you ignore the problem before seeking service? I'd say that's akin to using a smoke alarm as a cooking timer. But, I spent a number of years in the shop dealing with the after-effects of these kinds of things, so I know the result and have little sympathy for neglect.

Just an aside, modern no-check transmissions have dozens of sensors including fluid level. You WILL get a warning light before it melts down, and most have a limp-mode that will restrict the operation to a couple of gears to minimize or avoid damage.
