can we skip xmas this year?
can we? so not looking forward to the 2nd awkward family party. thanks giving I had... 1..2...3? people walk away cause they felt the need to not care about the convo. then xmas is coming, incoming 1,2,3? presents... "hey I heard you like games, technology and computers, so here is gel wristpad! you like sushi? here, havee this sushi kit! That new game that came out and you want badly and kept on hinting all month long? here, have some socks" :| also *** new year's, aka awkward party #3. Atleast I dont have to talk to anyone during those church visits!

^ I don't even buy into the whole "God" thing and I still love Christmas. And all the idiot commercialism of the holiday can't stop that. Winter Solstace has been celebrated for thousands of years, and it's a great time to revel in the beauty of the season and spend time with the family you like. If you don't like your family, spend it with friends and other loved ones. Or stay at home like a sour puss. But I personally love the holidays. Pretty lights, tasty foods, happier coworkers (usually). Seeing family I don't get to see nearly often enough... Edit: Oh! And buying people food. Maybe I'm a bad person, but I gift a lot of tasty, expensive food (and drinks) I know people won't buy for themselves. You've gotta indulge sometimes, folks. Enjoy the finer things. You only live once.

nah, religion has an appropriate place. just not for me, not right now. I can appreciate it for what it has the potential to be, in spite of how it's often used. things are rarely 100% good or bad.
