Morning all.
I hate friday mornings. some d-bag decided that it was important we meet @ 6;45am. wtf. so you are well into your day at that point, but why punish the rest of us? some of us ARE REALLY APPRECIATIVE of being able to still sleep in until 7am. I think all the flack I got back in the day was just jealousy from old people. if I could still sleep in until 9 or 10 I happily would, I just can't anymore. I may not be the median for sleeping ability, I'll admit, but if most people are like me, I say kids are *** for being able to sleep in too.
that spiel doesn't make a ton of sense now, but i'm going to post it anyway, because I don't have anything else to say.
hopefully everything is going swimmingly with the rest of ni? how goes yos? what out?

No, it makes perfect sense and I'm with you entirely. There are tons of studies out there about how people's natural sleep cycles are unique to them, but we make everyone jump through the same daily workhour hoops. I physically cannot sleep before -- at minimum -- 11:00 p.m. Can't do it. I go to bed and toss and turn and end up picking up my tablet or going back downstairs. Similarly, I can't sleep past 8:00 pretty much ever, but still if I wake up at 7:05 via the alarm (my usual time) I'm still groggy as *** no matter how early I manage to get to sleep. And my wife is a hot mess when it comes to sleep. I don't think she's gone to bed before 1:00-1:30 for months, she just can't sleep earlier. But she gets up the same time I do. ***'s tough.

My natural sleep seems to be around 2am - 10am. So I'm not too far off with my forced sleep routine.

Oh I'm still grumpy in the morning. What makes it worse is I sleep in until as late as possible, and my commute is ~1-3 minutes depending on light cycles. Thusly, I am usually still grumpy when I arrive at work.

my habits seem to mirror Ramy's. 8am would be legit. hell no.
If I nap, it's because I'm drunk, then I sleep for 6-7 hours, which is more or less going to bed for the night. I'm pretty sure I have a mild case of insomnia though. I will only nap if I'm sick, or totally exhausted. The issue with naps for me is that I can't do a 45min-1hr nap. I end up sleeping for 3-4 hours.

So drunken idiot who should have been fired long ago almost hit a person in our parking lot a couple months ago because he drives way too fast. Boss defends him saying "Oh he wouldn't drive the fast blah blah blah"
Fast forward to today, "Was that you driving like a maniac on the road out there?" It was. They laugh about it. Are you *** kidding me? Not only does he obviously not give a ***about anything here, work half-assed at best, require people to help him do his job because of this, some times not come into work because he can't start his car due to the breathalizer in it, treat everyone here like ***, and almost kill somebody, but now they're going to joke about it? I feel a storm is coming and it's going to blindside them. Hard.

I may drink a bit more than the nice people in the white coats suggest, but do it within reason, folks. Don't drink and drive, don't drink so much it interferes with your work or family life, and for the love of the esteemed memory of Mr. Jameson, learn your limits. A fine cognac or scotch is not nearly as enjoyable in reverse.
