Mad Men talk! I liked it all the way up through half of season 5. I just started to get bored with it. Enough so that I don't even remember what about it that bored me. But I still kept up with it. There's something about Don that I just can't pull away from!

Ramy, Anime is serious business in RT. Don't defame the all mighty Animes with your lies and slander!

You better watch your back! They're going to send one of those docile, bug-eyed, little things after you! Before you know it Princess Sugar Bean of Skiddlee-Dee-Bop-Land is going to morph into katana-weilding, robo bug, and Odin help you when that happens!

When she's done with you, she's going to gnaw on her sleeve, twist her hair innocently, vomit it up like a cat (Early week reference! HEYO!) and skip off to Europa with her jet propulsion to J-Pop!

NOW THAT'S A WOMAN!

EDIT: Yeah, I'm not a fan either, but it's a useless fight.

I like anime just fine...much like comics, it's something I used to be into before I had a job and responsibilities and things had to be let go. I watch some of my old favorites sometimes still.

I'm not "going after" anime at all. I promise. Just happened to bring it up in two seperate instances and I guess neither is going over well. Whatever.

It's Friday.
Why did you have to let it go when you got a job and responsibilities?

Because I have a lot of interests and while it was something I enjoyed, it does not rank as high as other things in my leisure time activities and it doesn't fit into my current time structure.

Sorry for the late response. I pretty much let the forum go over the weekend.~

I sold all of my comic books to buy baby diapers and clothes...
baby stuff is ridiculously expensive and my son, young the giant, was ten pounds at birth and too big for everything we had already bought...

/shrug

I never got back into it... comic books changed, I changed, diapers were changed... the world changed. twenty years went by in the blink of an eye...

I'd gladly sell my comics if there's a market for them. Maybe I should take them down to the local comic place and sell what they'll offer me for the box. I've got a lot of early-era Image stuff and a lot of death-of-Superman era stuff also.

Death of superman stuff isn't really worth much as they marketed that really pretty heavily and a lot of it is out there.

Unless you know the people you're gonna get ripped off just dropping a box in there.

Yeah, I'd do some research first. I know the Death of Superman stuff was pretty well marketed; I had like 3-4 copies of many issues myself because they came in otherwise assorted bundles.

what I did was go in with someone that was a current regular and got store credit for my books and then sold the store credit to him...

if you want cash you can guesstimate you will get about half the value if that much.... if you know the value.

I haven't looked into it at all, just thinking about it based on discussion here. I've got to assume there's plenty of internet resources out there now that serve the same function that the Wizard magazine used to back in the day.

If you want to maximize profits you'll either have to know someone that has a market for em or study up on it and sell em on ebay or something yourself.

How rare is it? + Condition.

I have a bit of a routine. If I get out of it or if it gets altered, it can be problematic for me. Hence why I'm having problems getting the gym worked back into my day-to-day. I got really sick a few months ago and it fell off for a few weeks and I've been having a hell of a time making it happen on my old schedule again. Ah well. I'll get there.

Even things I enjoy doing that are a change in my routine tend to throw me for a loop sometimes. It's sort of irritating, honestly. For instance, went to a hockey game Saturday. I wanted to go. But it also meant some of my normal Saturday routine had to go and even though I wanted to go to the game it still bothered me at the same time. Don't know if that makes sense or not. Meh.

But yeah. I just don't have time or money to spend on anime and stuff these days. I watch some of the things that catch my eye on Netflix here and there, but that's the extent of it.

Did I tell you how I got out of being the executor of my parents will?

when they asked how I would handle it I told them I would... sell the house, pay the bills and get one of those giant dumpsters and throw all their crap in it, split whatever is left equally between the five of us kids.....

my moms had a coronary "what about my collectible stuff!?!" ;;

she has all these stupid collections of worthless crap... Like sugar britches said, the only way to not get ripped off is to research the market and sell it yourself... Ain't nobody got time for that!

she has these creepy *** dolls that would go straight in the fire pit... I'm talking no more than thirty seconds after the funeral is over and however long it took to gather them up. They could be worth a million dollars IDGAF!!!!

Hi there dollies! here is your new bestestbestbuddy, gallon of lamp oil, and his pal lit matches, have fun burning in hell forever....

woooooosh!

I used to really dig collectables.

Now they're all just tucked in boxes in closets and we very well may sell many of them when we move again. Some of the nicer ones I'll actually keep and display, as we're probably moving to a full-sized house when we do move and we'll have room for 'em, but right now they're just all wrapped safely and packed away gathering dust.

I guess I could be, had I a ton of extra money & time. I'm a big WWII nerd, & would be pretty happy collecting WWII crap. luckily for my wife & kids I have only small recreation funds that I use for sporadic vacations, should that grow, I guess there's still better things to spend it on than random desires.

idk.

lol, yeha we're total opposite ends of the spectrum, my schedule is: phase 1: go to work m-f 8-5, phase 2: ???, phase 3: profit.

that and whatever random junk I go watch the children do.

^It's seriously for the sake of your own sanity. Beware the AH of the evenings and weekends! Actually, it doesn't apply to AH as an entire entity, but P&R has a pattern of losing all sense of humanity on the weekend.

I own many swords and actually display some of the nicer ones. And I have plenty of autographed hockey stuff in a little display area. So I guess it's not fair to say I don't do collectables anymore, the more I think on it.

I just don't buy every last thing that interests me anymore.

I call it progress.

Your poor wife.

Baby stuff is waaaaay overpriced. I end up buying most clothes and toys from used stores. Except 100% wool or silk items because they rock for winter time.
