I guess the weirdest thing about the increasingly annoying aspects of P&R is that, I wonder how many random people I pass by in everyday circumstances unloads this kind of ***all over the internet.
I know it's probably nothing. It's weird to think about though.
Not to burden you with the details, but I had to listen to a non-stop stream of political BS at work today and every time I even tried to interject any sort of reasoning -- not taking sides or putting my opinion in, just trying to calm people down -- it was met with rolled eyes and clearly annoyed voices that I might even deign to disagree with their rubbish.
So really, P&R actually isn't much different from work for me anyhow sometimes.
Edit: with the exception that ~60% of them are women so it's not quite that thread there. But a lot of the Random P&R hate pops up.
Edit2: It was bad enough that I burned an hour of PTO to get out of there early. Just couldn't listen to it anymore. Consider it the RL equivalent of closing the browser.
I don't know if it is a uniquely American thing, but the two topics which almost always come up whenever I travel back for work (besides work related topics) are religion and politics. So far in all the other countries I've visited, these don't generally come up. The closest would be Italy with Mr. Bunga bunga making headlines, with the driver going on about the corrotto(sp?) and how he was going to close up shop and move to Tenerife.
But almost without fail, politics, religion, and then family/other interests tend to come up in discussions, in that order, when back in the US. In contrast, swap the first two and last two; typically it is family, other interests, politics, religion in discussions with people travelling in Europe. Hell, I've worked with people here for years, and never had a discussion about religion with them.

Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
