I want to do some recon on my mom. My aunt has told me stories, and I need to see if I can put my dad's, "You're just like your mom!", rebuttal for the past fifteen plus years to rest.

Some of the bombs that are being dropped in that thread, if that were to be said in a social setting, would make every lady present raise a brow, and either excuse themselves and/or seat themselves at the farthest end of the table surrounded by security blanket buddies (male and/or female).
There's a defense mechanism that weeds out the potential to be raped! 1.) Identify *** cues and jargon. 2.) Remove yourself from the discomfort of said ***. 3.) Buddy system! /shakes head Aren't most P&R goers around thirty? What is going on?

(I gotta run to a letting, bbl)

He's a December kid too! I guess the weirdest thing about the increasingly annoying aspects of P&R is that, I wonder how many random people I pass by in everyday circumstances unloads this kind of ***all over the internet. I know it's probably nothing. It's weird to think about though.

(I gotta run to a letting, bbl) I don't think there is any inherent hazard to the aquifer with traditional mining methods (open pit/shaft), but radon would be a health hazard for miners. If they try to do extraction using some kind of solvent method, then there could potentially be problems with groundwater contamination. Another area could be in how the do some of the initial processing on-site prior to shipping; if that is water-based or uses a good volume of water, then there is some potential for contamination from that wastewater. The real concern would be with the remnants of that initial post processing (tailings). That crap is usually pretty toxic and sometimes slightly radioactive when not mining uranium ores; I'd wager that it would be somewhat more problematic when mining uranium, and quite likely a pretty large volume of rubble which they would have to contain/handle somehow.

Not to burden you with the details, but I had to listen to a non-stop stream of political BS at work today and every time I even tried to interject any sort of reasoning -- not taking sides or putting my opinion in, just trying to calm people down -- it was met with rolled eyes and clearly annoyed voices that I might even deign to disagree with their rubbish. So really, P&R actually isn't much different from work for me anyhow sometimes. Edit: with the exception that ~60% of them are women so it's not quite that thread there. But a lot of the Random P&R hate pops up. Edit2: It was bad enough that I burned an hour of PTO to get out of there early. Just couldn't listen to it anymore. Consider it the RL equivalent of closing the browser.
