lol. I sell mostly rigging supplies. We sell slings, and chain, and synthetic slings (I can sew!), and shackles, and electric hoists, and winches and etc.
Basically anything involving labor saving and building. I also have literally made any effort to make a sale (frequently if a customer insists they can't find something, I will google it > find a price and availability > mark it up 30% > pocket the money). I use wire rope to hang spiral, but it's lower gauge stuff.

Also Zah, at that apt bldg with the metal frame issue we resolved, my boss winged the price on Metal Doors and frames, and we got the contract for like 24,500 right, he got an actual quote this week, and it'll cost us 7k to buy. So far looking better!

I have a habit of blaming GCs over anyone. I'm not sure why. I know there's no room for contingencies. The competitiveness amongst the GCs for their bids always leaves room for numbers to be skewed on their end of the estimate when it comes to estimating cost among their subs.
Competition among subs for GCs. Competition among GCs for the projects themselves. I only have one horror story for each that are outrageous, but I think I've dumped both on here before. /sigh We all need a trip to the Bahamas!

Its worth $1,300 a unit. I wanted more but its also 64 of these locations...so we cut a small price due to quantity. I make up other things on smaller change orders, a couple extra hundred bucks on 1-2k change orders. I'm fair =P But if you mean that rehab project, no. *** them. They fail to understand that occupied units cost more down time for everyone.

So much rage there...I kept my mouth shut and tongue bit when I met that architect...but I could feel the blood vessel in my head...

Yup still occupied units. And so its also a retirement home....so...can't really get ornery when they do too....just kinda take it.
I did meet/go into unit of a navy vet that had the hat of USS Hornet. Made my day. Along with the lady that has a Redskins shrine n her husband was at first game they played at in Washington.
