Since the subject of extra-curriculars kind of ties into what we were talking about earlier, yeah...Eventually they'll find out that those violin and piano lessons cost daddy a butt-ton over the years. Ballet, drill team, select soccer, golf clubs, recital costumes (Which are a fortune for one to six performances, depending on age and how many classes!), uniforms, travel expenses, etc. ALL THAT ***!

Oh God! I'll be in your boat too soon enough.
I remember Prom.. being larger it was harder to find a dress for it. Hate shopping, too. ><

I told my mom I really didn't wanna go but decided to because of friends wanting to go.

My mom paid a lot of money for my dress (only worn once), hair, etc. My brothers didn't go to prom, so I guess she wanted to make sure at least one of her children went, lol.

I went and was miserable for most of the time (this was when I first started to online date with my boyfriend, and was depressed I couldn't be with him instead.) Although it was kinda funny, I went with my gay friend and my dress was hot pink. I joked with him that he should have picked his vest to be hot pink as well. He wasn't amused. >.>

My parents did a lot over the years, and I tried to pay them back for it over time. They wouldn't be living in the place they live in now if I didn't front a $500.00 security deposit for them. Or fix up a car by putting over $1,000.00 into it so everyone could get to work. I think of it as a small way of paying them back.

That's good that you feel the need to pay it back. My parents are paying for half the private school tuition for my nephew, so I don't ask for anything anymore. They've already done a lot that I'm grateful for.

My dad annoys me when he equates "paying him back" to, "You need to pop out three more kids!" That's unnerving to no end!

cest la vie'

I'm kinda dealing with similar circumstance with the wife @ home taking care of the baby shane. he cried when I put him down when I was home for lunch, & I had a good laugh & told him "I gotta go back to work, you better get used to it, I'm not going to know ***about you either"

calling your pockets was a rather rude thing to do anyway.

Applies to mothers as well. Not saying that only men are at fault, saying that some men don't go to lengths to learn about their children.

For all I know he could be too, but him venting his concern that he is, at least to me, shows the opposite and confirms the rest of my judgement about his parenting prior to his venting.

I'm so glad that didn't happen. GOD! That would have been a disaster considering how things went after graduation. No kids needed to come from that.

I see old friends from high school that have kids and always say their lives are miserable.. one girl got married and divorced within a few years. Not to say it's always like that though.

I just didn't want to have kids. Boyfriend agreed that we should wait. The way we are right now, we're having enough trouble taking care of ourselves. AND MY GOD THIS KEYBOARD IS GOING TO GO AGAINST THE WALL SCREW WIRELESS.

We only had two get knocked up during HS. Our Homecoming Queen, imagine that! She's really nice and resilient! She prevailed and is teaching now, but the father (who I hated with a passion in HS) blew the back of his skull off before their daughter turned one.

The other just kept popping them out, and it's really awkward if I run into her and her brood of four when I'm visiting the parents.

My best buddy since elementary school, who didn't get into UT with our trio, ended up going to a small college and getting knocked up by a country-fried, good 'ole boy. He's really awesome! She's the office manager and bookkeeper for his family's company.

It really just depends on the girl whether they make it out unscathed or not.

Totally agree. Also have to realize that a relationship/marriage is hard work, and with a child, even harder. I think most young people that get married and have kids right away don't realize this. D:

I totally misread that at first glance! I thought you said, "Leave her kid at the gas station". I overlooked the "with".

My first reaction was, "She abandoned her kid like a dog!"

I was only in a class of 150 or so, and all the succeeding classes were around the same number. It was out of the entire HS at that time. :/

We had a veeeeeery small high school. Funny thing is that was the highest number of people for a graduating class in over 10 years.

Lawd, and I thought I had a small class of 230 (I was 203/233 btw)

Anywho, In my head I counted AT LEAST 6 girls that I knew were preggo in HS, I know there are more but I don't recall their names. I think 3 more, faces I recall. Most of them hispanic girls (shocker I know), 1 maybe 2 asian, definitely one of them was, and 2 white girls.

Town I lived in is predominately white, polish folk. Very little diversity, and if there was diversity the "elders" would typecast people really bad.

Also: I was 10/68. Worked really hard for it. Go me. Whoop whoop.
