The guy had a crazy Central Louisiana accent, and I seriously needed a translator to get through a conversation with him! I tried so hard to pass Old Swampbottoms off to the guy I was interning with. It was really that bad! I can understand rural Texas okay, but Cen-LA is an entirely different language.

I once had a service guy that I thought was speaking some crazy form of cajun something, but it turns out he was from new hampshire & got struck by lightning. one of those, rare for me, "gee I really wished I hadn't just said that" moments.

One time, we decided to head out to Baton Rouge to goof off with some HS buddies at LSU. We had this brilliant idea that we were going to hot-box the car from Houston to our destination. Excellent idea until everyone starts rambling about back-woods horror flix! So, we stop for gas and supplies (of the stuff yo' face variety), there was a Sheriff in there that looked like he was straight out of 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'! Of course, I was the one who went in stoned to the bone, probably reeking of weed, and had to mill around nonchalantly in the gas station for what seemed like an eternity with my arms full. What made the situation worse was, I had no idea what the Hell he was saying to the cashier. They both start looking at me, and then the paranoia sets in! "OH GOD! They know! WTF are they saying?!? Are they talking about me? AHHHHH!" /panic He left though, but I was there forever it seemed like.
