I wouldn't worry about the north koreans Z. it's just the media being the media. thier military is quite literally running on 60's era *** that would immediated be decimated should they turn thier talk into action. hell they'd get across the 38th parralel, see a mcdonald's and call it quits. There was actually some real concern this time... it looks like it's dying down but yea... They would get decimated in the end but there will eb a lot of damage initially... lots of lives lost on both sides... they do have a fair amount of artillery, yes. It wouldn't be disney land, but not WW3-4 either. I was speaking more to the news hyping it up like america could be potentially a target, lolololololol Yeah and there's a lot of people near the DMZ and such as well...
Well they were always saying they were targeting us but I don't think anyone was all that concerned that it would actually make it our way...

I just remember the panic about the draft being reinstated. I think sometimes if we get into anymore conflicts they might overturn it. Again, poor kiddos. :(
There was one quirky, awkward but nice band nerd in HS that wanted to go into officer training right after 9/11. I think he was the only one who was vocal about it. He was ridiculously smart too! I wonder if he went through with it.

Going back to this...
I remember the one converstaion we had kinda that left my sister-in-law in dissaray and just told my brother to take her home lol... was pretty grim at the time didn't talk to us for awhile after that... but she was trying to make some argument that we are indebted to illegal immigrants and we should be required to make all kinds of accomodations for them... one thing is that we should learn spanish so that they can get around and communicate so that they would not have to learn english... we did not see eye to eye on this lol...
I'm on the fence because my mother is an immigrant, but my mother is a LEGAL immigrant. There are plenty of European immigrants and ex-pats who take legal channels, and this is basically a backhand to them.
When we had droves of German, Swedish, Italian, French, etc. what accommodations were made to them? Everyone had to learn the collective language to prosper.
I'm a little apprehensive about teaching in both languages also. If feel bad for the immigrants that can't get help at home because of their parents' inability (or refusal) to learn the common language, but English is the language of commerce. It's required in school curricula globally.
EDIT: I think we should also adopt Germany's tiered school system.

There's quite a few countries that teach it to their populace though... I believe countries like Sweden, norway, denmark and the like all teach it quite commonly... No one else really speaks their languages either...
