No, I'm saying it because it's stupid, pointless, and has no rational support to it.

Anyways, does anyone know about being able to stream and run files remotely from a network on a media PC while hosted files/content are elsewhere in the household? Hopefully such an endeavor wouldn't be too expensive. Though I doubt it would be able to operate things like games and have it run streamlined without lag considering everything is being passed down via wi-fi.

just wanting to watch via network?

on another computer or on like an xbox/ps3?

the former I'd just set up a shared folder for the network so you can play them, the latter use media server software, you can use the latter for both but if you're accessing from a pc I'd just do the former as it's easier to set up if you're just using from a pc.

Well I'm sure I can run low hardware requirement things like various emulators, but obviously more hardware intensive games will require the actual software to be read via hard drive.
Obviously I wouldn't be able to run things like Skyrim strictly via wi-fi.

The latter. Basically accessing files/software remotely via network. Shared files or otherwise. That way I don't have to set up something like RAID to get a copy of what I already have on a separate PC.

what does raid have to do with this?

you can access the files easy enough with a simple shared folder, but you'd have to have the programs installed on both computers to run them.

You can install it to a network shared folder, but I don't recommend it.
