If Obama had any balls he'd have sent seal team six to extract Snowden and to hell with the consequences.
We just need batman to do it, he's already gotten Lau back from Hong Kong. And since he's not aligned with the government they'll just shrug it off.

Watch out, you might be called racist soon.
This is uncalled for here.

That is the only defense people have when they call Obama a crybaby.

So point still stands.

I was a little slow on the quoting, so it looked like I was talking to Sparth, sorry.

See ya guys in about 2-5 hours, hopefully I get lots of love then!

Do you mean that it's the only defense people have when others call Obama a crybaby? Because I pretty much feel that Obama is being a "crybaby" too, although it may be appropriate in this case. Would you rather we put damaging sanctions on Russia? That's a dangerous game to play. We're not talking about Iran here, but a world superpower who took us to the edge of mutually-assured destruction 45 years ago. Obama is in the wrong with his position on the surveillance state and whistleblowers, and I don't want him doing damage to our country to enforce his position. Let Obama pout and stamp his feet, and hope he's satisfied with petty gestures.

In the general sense of "people accuse Obama detractors of being racist when they're not", I disagree that there isn't racism involved oftentimes. There are certainly plenty of valid reasons to be critical of Obama. The thing is, too many right-wing politicians and pundits resort to dog-whistle statements and outright xenophobia when talking about our president. Do you deny this?
Well, that seems to be the excuse I see on a daily basis if you argue about Obama.

inb4 "that's racist" meme

BTW, I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Putin Ex-KGB and Obama read a book about how to stand up to a bully once.

Putin is a dangerous man, there's no arguing that, but he's hardly a bully. And since when did government operatives become insurmountable titans of politics? If they were good at negotiating, they wouldn't need to be covert.

Now they may not be titans of politics, but I guarantee they can look into a bullshitter's eyes and tell that he is a pussy pushover.

A pushover who you seem to think has control of the world economy.

Being willing to speak candidly with world leaders and compromise is not a weakness. Obama IS, however, entirely too passive on important issues and far too passionate about a lot of unimportant things.

Another Snowden thread huh? With a pathetic title to boot, not even worth reading I'm sure. Just think, after 2016, 3 of the last 5 Olympic games will have been held in 3 terrible countries as far as human rights is concerned. Russia is a ***country, and Sochi is going to show that off in spades. The President doesn't need to be taking any trips there, and Snowden is irrelevant as to why he isn't going.

I'm just saying that there's a difference in severity of moral lapses between Russia and the United States. It's not fair to ignore this.

I disagree, & will continue to ignore this.

North Korea is worse! We should be thankful America is like this and stick our heads in the sand. Shouldn't complain about something if something else is worse!

Apparently there is this thing called the Group of 20, where the largest 20 economical nation leaders gather together to discuss economic policy and how to screw it up.

Anyway, the Group of 20 is being hosted in Russia, so there is a point for Obama to go.

There ya go.

He is going to the G20 summit but he will not be attending a bilateral meeting with Putin.

Question was why he was going to Russia at all.

I gave him a (smartass) answer.

They were kinda vague on the specifics, but the purpose was to discuss more open trade policies. Which is strange, actually, because Russia and the US don't produce any significant amount of things the other imports.

They are the top two military powers in the world and the wallmarts of arms. There are a lot of discussions that take place on who they can sell to without pissing the other one off too much. Georgia, Syria, Iran and South Korea, Taiwan, Egypt, Jordan for examples.

They billed it as trading with each other, not who we each trade with, but I guess that makes sense too.
