Setting Up Ps3 Controller On Computer

I am having trouble connecting my ps3 controller to use for my pc.

I plugged it in, it said downloading necessary drivers.

After that, I installed ds3 tool.

I cant seem to get it to work, as it is not recognizing that my controller is plugged in.

Can anyone help me figure out why it ds3 isnt recognizing it?

With MotionInJoy every time you reboot PC you need to click "enable". Also it doesn't work that well for FFIV.

Did you follow the instructions on loading the drivers in the program?

Download Motioninjoy. Once your controller is hooked up, select Playstation 2 (POV, joysticks). You will also need to click on the "Enable" tab on the middle left.

If you need to set it up for PS2 controller scheme, there is some stuff within the FFXI folder you would need to adjust.

I have motion in joy downloaded. I have it open, I plug in my controller, and i heard the du do sound so i know its connected.

I selectps2 pov joystick even tho its a ps3 controller bc thats what someone said, and the program still isnt picking it up.

now i am really pissed bc not only is this not working at all, but someone i got whitesmoke toolbar on my comp and not i need to get rid of it -.-

did you have a 360 controller plugged in?

typically have to remove it beforehand

no i dont have a 360 controller. lol this is very frustrating

it works, but i have no Dpad control :<

(I downloaded the stuff just to see if i could help, the only problems im having is Dpad and it wont recognize my bluetooth in computer)

I did something right...effed around with the settings and BAM i have full use of the controller (while plugged in of course)

Driver manager on motioninjoy, load drivers, then go to profiles and select PS2 (POV, Joysticks), then go to game controller panel>properties and make sure it the buttons work, after that click OK and then enable and you should be good to go for XI and XIV. Some games will require you to use the xbox setting, but you can still use your ps3 controller.

If it's still not working, make sure you ran as admin.

This is ***. Every time i try to download all i download is some cheap *** virus even if it says ps3 whatever its suppose to be called...

if i remember right, when you plug in your controller if says its dl'ing drivers but its actually not getting the right stuff. in the ds3/motionjoy program under the driver manager. click the check box under hardware location, should say something like port_#0004.hub. than hit the load driver button just under that. that should get it to work, at least thats what i remember doing and its been working fine for 11 and 14. no problems on startup either.
