Move servers then, plenty of LS still recruiting or doing things in the game. I've seen plenty of people in Abyssea on my server. There are still shouts and people willing to join them as well.
I am not worried about Abyssea gears - I can do this all day long all the time forever lol. Or Voidwatch gears. Problem is SoA content is mostly delve now and plasm farming. There are still quite a great deal number of people who are left in the dust, and their only way to progress is by adding those intermediate gears obtained through bayld and wildskepeer reive to bridge the gap between anything else pre-SoA to somewhat decently able to contribute in SoA contents.
The original goal of SoA is to do gear progression slowly step by step by doing all the other contents before Delve, which at this point the elite majority deemed worthless. And suck to be you if you are trying to even do those content to catch up, which is a shitty attitude as these players are trying to catch up and shorten the gaps.
Problem is, if you left the game since SoA launch, you are left behind period. I rather stick in Bahamut and just find new people to do things together. There quite a few pre-SoA gears for mages that are still good. Considering healer and support are the two jobs that are dwindling, it's not bad idea to focus. Worst comes to worst, stay for the bonus logging events and take another break from FFXI in August lol.
