Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knows a way to edit the in game camera distance/position when auto targeted? Being a Galka I take up probably 3/4 of the screen and cant even see the mob I'm fighting most of the time when in this camera mode and have resorted to fighting without the auto target camera on, but i feel this takes away from the battles a little bit. If anyone knows how to change this that would be wonderful.

Could try zooming your camera out, though I don't recall if it will auto zoom in again once you engage a mob.

The zoom adjusts when you have it locked on but it does go in and out. The . and , keys zoom you in and out by default if that is the kinda thing you were looking for.

Page UP/Page DOWN also work if you have a full keyboard. If you're using a LAPTOP PC you may want to look for a key named "FN" and look for a key where "Page UP" or "Page DOWN" is written to with the same colors as the FN key.

If you're using Windower and have MMF enabled, then you can hold Shift/Directional buttons aswell to move the camera in a fight.

Page Up/Down and Numpad3/9 both zoom in and out. Shift + Direction will pan the camera for you.

I don't use Windower and the game behaves exactly like that, vanilla.

Shift is mainly used to change the function of the cursor keys. Additionally holding Shift will also invert the order that targets cycle through TAB/Insert targeting.

The only thing that change the Shift key behavior is when you have the text input window open.

You can also move the camera using shift if you're too busy eating dirt (homepoint/raise prompt) to be able to open the menus or anything else...

It does? I always have issues with it when I have a fresh Windower install until I re-enable MMF support on keyboard. Probably something else I change then :D

I typically use it when I have another window open though, so that could be what I was thinking of.

Before I figured that stuff out I would not be able to properly play the game without a gamepad (I am still addicted to the gamepad, though)... lol

Windower adds a lot of new complexity to the game interface though.

Also keep in mind that when you have the game set into the compact keyboard mode it works COMPLETELY differently. :)

Compact keyboard mode exists only to make it possible for one to play the game with a laptop computer which has no numeric keypad.

It's slightly clumsy but works well once a person gets the hang of it. I never used it so I don't know all the details about how it work, sadly. So the stuff you said about Windower + FFXI might still apply on some setups.
