Not sure if Kali's around so temporary placeholder thread or w/e

New info released for Delve at: http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/adoulin/

Delve is all-new battle content that pits groups of adventurers against monsters living in spatial distortions known as "fractures." Throw yourself into harrowing combat with the demons of the depths and acquire powerful equipment the likes of which have never been seen before!

Ready both sword and spell—the battle is about to heat up!
Only the valiant pioneers who have bested the Naakuals in wildskeeper reives and tackled the lurid fiends during skirmishes can participate in the toughest challenges Vana'dielians have ever faced. Fight to the death against forces unknown and prove your worth!
* Up to eighteen stalwart souls may take the plunge into Delve together.

Combat notorious monsters (NMs) in the field and delve head first into fractures for dramatic battles!

Vicious monsters of every shape and size have taken root in various fractures, led by five NMs of particular ferocity. Atop this dastardly chain of command sits a villain of incomparable power. Your goal is to vanquish these five NMs and their leader. In the field, you can use special items known as yggrete shards to call forth the lesser NMs from a fracture and try your might against their terrible forms.
Battles in the fractures consist of vanquishing the five NMs to earn the privilege of taking aim at the most fearsome beast residing within.
NMs defeated in the field will not make a second appearance within the fracture, and up to three may be defeated in advance.
Whether you choose to divide and conquer or barge in and face the evils all at once is your decision. Choose wisely based on your strength, confidence, and cunning.

To the Victor Go the Spoils

Some items and equipment available in Delve are dropped directly from vanquished foes. Others are earned by obtaining mweya plasm, a strange substance acquired from participating in combat, and exchanging it with an interested individual.
What's more, some equipment thus obtained can be upgraded using particular items gained while within the fractures. The more you participate, the better your rewards become!

Mikinaak Equipment
Manibozho Equipment
Bokwus Equipment

Enhancing Delve Equipment

Certain equipment may be enhanced with a special item gained in Delve, allowing for incremental upgrades to your most trusted armaments. There are a total of three upgrade paths to select, enabling you to customize your gear as you see fit.

Not as pretty as a Kali thread but it'll do

Seems pretty cool in concept, We'll see how it plays out. There better be an S or SS "type", cause those augments are :|

also i think this is the first time i really have a stronk dislike for the way the armor set looks.... >.>;

This content sounds like it'll have some potential based on the ability to access with lesser skilled/geared individuals and still make progress without hoping that the RNG gods are on your side. I'm also pleased to see some alliance level content as smaller groups tend to crowd out certain jobs though 12 people is usually preferable to 18 from a simple logistical point of view.

The concept itself sounds good so lets see the execution cause we all know thats where SE concepts derail and explode.

P.S - Incentives to kill SoA mobs please. I'll take a stupid Hakutaku style dropfiesta to the stupid, painful system of whack a tree, break a hatchet or wheel of misfortune on the soul pyres.

P.S2 - The sets look horrible. It makes the Ogier/Athos/Ruebus sets look amazing and that was Voidwatch crap.

You're looking at the type not the rank

I don't blame you - it's hard to look at that ugly armor for long

I like alli events cause they bring out the potential of individual jobs and require usually more coordination and strategy, which I enjoy. However, sucks to be an EU in a world of jp/americans. I can't do alli stuff <_<

My point exactly... EU here. No one ever does anything in my time. And I can't afford to play like I used to as a kid - NA event times: 3 am dynamis gather together.

really you guys just need to find a decent EU shell we have an active linkshell SFCaitsith which has a lotta ppl and we do loads of events UK time in the evenings and are actually adding to our schedule as our numbers increase. If you cant find a shell where you are then unfortunately looks like your on the wrong server

Both Adoulin zones are huge and that makes them look emptier than they really are. Plus, there's no really good reason for most people to set their homepoint there yet.

It has access to all 3 nations via the warp runes. It has a reraise/warp scroll NPC in the PCK Coalition. You can also warp to jeuno pretty easily should you need an abyssea NPC, or warp to Norg/Kazham if you need a Voidwatch NPC. I see plenty of reason to set Adoulin as the homepoint to be currently.

About that gear, the mage one is alright(although the colours suck), the heavy one has a very stupid helm and the light one is just horrible in every possible way.

There's also a token system coupled with user-defined difficulty. Delve has the potential to appease a large portion of the player base.

How do you do this? Other than Adoulin zones the only other warp I have is to Jeuno itself.

Looking at the actual POL site, those armour pieces seem to be "base" sets, and players select a "path" for each of them. That's what it sure feels like if you take the bunch of arrows dotting off to the right into consideration.

Perhaps they look plain and boring now, because eventually, the more SE expands Delve, players can potentially "upgrade" them into shinier new designs, like the fully unlocked Empyrean weapons?
